Pretty decent animation. Captures a lot from the manga (Mozgus' expression, Guts x Casca, Puck Spark) though not flawless yet. Things like character's movement could be better, also the scenes can be a bit longer (Guts x Casca hug, Mozgus' last moments, Isidro's act, Farnese being horrified) to give more impact, but it's good enough I guess. Mozgus' rock form animation is pretty solid. Music fits nicely.

I just watched all 11 episodes of this today. My god. This is such a butchered adaptation of the glorious manga but I guess that it is better than nothing. I can't believe that they skipped so much material as well. At least the last couple episodes were pretty solid (relatively) and I think that I the CGI action scenes were a bit better animated there (or I just got used to it a little more).
Seeing as this is the first time any post-Golden Age material has been animated, I will regrettably now forever associate these parts of the manga with Casca's weird ass moaning (I did not imagine her sounding like that at all when reading the manga) and lots of naked chicks with no nipples.
Please do yourself a favor, and read the manga. Believe me when I say that it is one of the best of all-time even if this anime adaptation makes you think otherwise...
