We have seen Rob’s passion for Australian hunting through his business and impressive range of gear and designs and now this passion has flowed on to our television screens. As the name suggests “Beyond the Divide” provides an adventure hunting series that not only captures the spirit of hunters and hunting in this country, in and around the Great Dividing Range, but also portrays what it takes to be an Australian, hunting and surviving challenging environments overseas.

2x03 New Zealand Chamois

  • no air date30m

Rob relocates from the rugged Tahr country, further north to thick forested mountains closer to the coast where they make an uphill assault into the Chamois country.
After a huge climb, the tree line is reached and the terrain opens up into alpine grasses, which is prime habitat for the extremely wary Chamois.

These animals have some of the sharpest eyesight of any animal on the planet and represent an extreme challenge for the adventurous hunter.

Rob again teams up with charismatic local Clark McGhie to hunt Scrub Bulls.

Through northern Australia, Scrub bull is a term used for bull cattle that have gone wild. These animals are one of the most dangerous bovines around as they are often foul tempered, notoriously nasty and extremely wary.
Scrub bulls are a scourge to cattle owners as they are of mixed breed and pollute pure genetics, dramatically decreasing the value of the herd. For the hunter, they represent a unique, exciting and dangerous challenge.

Wild or feral pigs are in abundance across much of northern Australia, they are a huge environmental pest, and can grow to huge sizes!

During summer in outback Queensland, temperatures soar to near 40 degrees Celsius, but as long as you can endure the heat-the hunting is fantastic and the pigs can be found up close and in big numbers as they move towards water.

Archery hunting is definitely a pursuit for the patient and committed.

Ranges must be close, shots must be accurate, so it requires precision control of all the senses. Rob takes on his first pig hunt with the bow, and its exciting action as he Clark and Greg, get in super close on some feisty Queensland boars.

The Asiatic Water buffalo were released into Australia over a century ago and they are now an icon of the territory.

While classed as an environmental pest, they are considered by many to be a sustainable resource as they provide value through financial return to landowners through live export, pet meat and hunting.

Rob joins with good friends Joe and Lou, together they travel to a remote Aboriginal community in Arnhem land where they camp with the locals and begin to stalk for one of the largest bovines in the world.

Rob, Joe and Lou are off to a great start in the Territory stalking buffalo, but they are quickly learning that these huge bovines sure don’t come easy.
Rob has been searching hard but hasn’t had any luck, until a last-minute chance comes up on a solid bull, but the hunt turns quickly from excitement, into suspense and danger!

2x09 Idaho Elk

Of all the Western states, Idaho provides some of the best opportunities for non-resident hunters to gain access to wilderness areas and hunt for bull Elk during the bugle.
In recent times the iconic Elk has had an amazing story of survival and endurance, and thanks to the efforts of the Rocky Mountain Elk foundation, Elk numbers, public land and hunting opportunities, have never been better.
In neighboring Montana, the small town of Missoula is the headquarters of the RMEF and before the guys get into their adventure, Rob has a fascinating interview with the guys at the RMEF and learns more about their amazing success.
