Not sure what I think of this yet. Surely, there's some great actors in this thing, but that doesn't necessarily mean great characters. In fact, it's a common move to use well-known actors for movies and tv shows with weak characters. So far, the story is interesting enough, but these aren't truly memorable characters, and I don't have the feeling that only these actresses could play these roles. They have time to change that, sure, but as far as first impressions go, it could be better.
the editing was very bad in this episode.
I find the premise that Nicole, Reese and Shailene all have kids the same age to be extremely hilarious. Specially considering Nicole's old enough to be Shailene's mom!
One thing I hate about HBO shows is how uber long the intros are (unless it's the GOT one, that one's awesome!). 60+ seconds intro? #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat
I find the whole past/present thing to be kinda how to get away with murder-y. Kind of a weak pilot, since all that really happened was the introduction of the characters. Will have to watch a few more episodes before deciding if I like it or not.
This show got me hooked by the first episode! Amazing performances and interesting storyline.
For a show so highly rated I must say i'm not impressed with this pilot. I found myself finding it really hard to care for any of these characters and their problems except for the new girl and her kid. Hopefully this is intentional and improves later on.

Wow that episode was a lot . The characters talk more than the characters on Gilmore Girls.
