Reese Witherspoon was born for the role of Madeline, pure perfection.

Shailene's role as a mom feels so forced. Maybe it's because of all the Divergent movies, or because she's not a mom in real life, but I'm not buying it.
On a more positive note, I'm loving Chloe (Reese's youngest daughter). That girl rocks! And I love how she's always listening to this really cool music.
No plot development happened this episode either. But maybe that's the whole point of this show. People living their dramatic lives, being very grey about their actions and decisions, while parallely, a homicide investigation is carried out, which gives everyone an excuse to bad mouth each other. IDK.

It's a good start with compelling characters, but they are really horrible people. The disjointed nature of this episode (watched the first one quite a while ago, don't remember if it did it as well or not) - showing quick clips of action that we know little about - made for an ominous and foreboding feel. The question is will the story move somewhere and remain compelling or will it be horrible people being horrible with this mystery/story never moving forward.
