THIS IS THE SHOW'S BEST EPISODE
the season was weak, but this and USS Callister are genuine GEMS, this build up perfectly, it's a rollercoaster of emotions and has such a perfect ending, devastating but somehow relieving.
OMG That was so hardcore.. The darkest episode in the show so far.
Definitely the best episode of the season, maybe even of the whole show.
3 different substories, each one could have been its own full episode, and a good one, plus a common stpry to link them all.
The idea of the museum with artifacts from other episodes is pretty neat.
1st story starts great, that's a nice invention. Too bad he experiences death and it turns really creepy. This story alone is above the rest of the season.
2nd story is really creepy since the beginning. Who could have predicted that having your dead wife in your head would make it difficult to manage your everyday life ? Well EVERYBODY, duh ! But then turning her into a teddy bear and not even telling the kid that his mother was inside, wow that was harsh ! Great story in itself also.
3st story is horrifying. The digital copy of a dead convict is already pretty creepy. Then having people electrocute him again and again, wow, that's hardcore stuff. Would people be into that ? I'm afraid a lot would be. But then giving everybody a full digital copy og his consciousness experimenting maximum pain forever in a keyholder, it's... cruel beyond almost anything I have ever seen (I think one of the top would be Mord Sith training in the Sword of Truth series). Really sick, but great story too.
And the overall story, the museum visit and revenge is a great wrapping over these. A little surprising too, in the beginning I really expected her to be the victim, like the 1st story's doctor is behind the door and you're gonna be his next passtime. Then when he turns super red, you can see it's unnatural. Still not sure how she managed that. Just turning the AC off is enough for him to feel this bad and drain the whole water bottle ? Seems strange.
As for the aftermath, how will she keep on living with her mother inside ? It's like the second story + episode 2 times 10. And we saw how both have ended.
It was a really entertaining episode, you're pulled through the story until its satisfying (?) conclusion. Well done. Stories have original concepts or at least original uses of already seen concepts.
Philosophically it pushes the boundary of the questions of episode 1 to the extreme. Can we do anything with an AI or should it be treated like a person. What if it is a copy of a person ? In the first episode, they're like game characters, in their own digital universe, and the real person still exists. But now what if the original person is dead, and the copy is the only thing left. Should it be considered the same as the person when they were living ? Now what if this copy has been made only in order to be abused ? And then what about the copy that is freezed in eternal pain ? Even if you're kinda ok with trating game characters badly, the last one seems totally inhumane, even if you think of the copy as just data, it's still really disturbing. So then, where's the limit ?
I still very much enjoyed all of the episodes but I didn't like that almost the entire season (execpt for Metalhead) used a variation of the cookie/consciousness transfer concept. Obviously a small nitpick as they still manage to tell interesting story with that concept but I really loved that earlier episodes all had different future techs and concepts.
And I feel like they kinda toned down on the darkness and 'depression feeling' since being produced by Netflix. Netflix BM kinda feels like a watered down version of C4 BM.
I dont get the love this episode gets... it's just terrible, predictable and all over the place.
Letitia Wright is absolutely brilliant, great episode to end the show with plenty of Easter eggs from previous episodes.
I really like how you never find out if the guy in the third part actually killed the person he was executed for or not. It forces you to sympathize with someone who may be a murderer. That's the one thing that I didn't like about Shawshank Redemption: they eventually tell you that Andy didn't kill his wife. I feel like the ambiguity is more powerful, and forces you to remember that even the worst people are still people.
Very clever way to tie everything up
that episode blew me away and shook me to my core even days after watching it. bravooo !!!
The last scene in the car got me.. Good episode with twists...
Best Episode. I love it.
Fantastic episode. The way this episode went forward reminded me of the Christmas episode of season 2. Some thrilling stories with a superb twist at the end. I didn't see that one coming until it was already happening.
One word- reverse sunken place..ok that was three but this was a pretty interesting creative and dangerous episode. Lesson... once you get a taste of it, you can never go back and you want more and more and more until you drill someone
why are you always disturbed by Black Mirror?
This feels like the Magnum Opus of Black Mirror in some ways. A truly beautiful, twisted, clever, heartbreaking, and exciting episode.
This episode saved the season for me. Very strong episode.
I know Black Mirror is all about grim futurism, but goddamn, that episode went hard at it. Too hard, in my opinion: instead of making us think about the perils and moral implications of technology, this episode was a weird horror vengeance porn with some really dark behavior that would never for one second be considered a good idea in the real world.
I mean, episodes like "White Christmas" had their existential horror, absolutely; but this just felt mean-spirited.
"USS Callister" was amazing and "Hang the DJ" was cute, but the rest of this season has been very disappointing.
Really admired the episode's ambition of being both a Black Mirror-within-Black Mirror anthology, and borderline parodic meta commentary on its own series. But many of its elements in each short story are just too simplistic in its very broad strokes to be much engaging (especially the second one). Douglas Hodge is such a wonderfully sleazy delight though, especially if Brooker intends to write this character as mocking himself.
Basically 'White Christmas' times 100 - More heartbreaking and tragic. Plus a lot of easter eggs.
Also, Karl Pilkington predicted the doctor segment.
Masterpiece really well written and such a geniusly trip.8.9/10
at last an episode that makes you remember why you freaking love Black Mirror, this season was bad, if this was the 1st season i would've given up on it. The 5th episode was so bad i turned it off. The episodes were a lot weaker than the other seasons. Episodes 1 and 4 were ok. But the finale was just SPOT on! Finally a true master piece of this amazing show. With lots of nudges to the old episodes, did miss the famous song but if you watch it the song they picked for this episode was spot on too. I didn't see it coming that the woman was his daughter until Rolo almost collapsed, so a bit before she revealed herself . I hope that if they make a new season that it will be a bit more stronger than this one.
a good ending for maybe the worst season ( or least better, there´s no "worst" on BM! )
I liked the multiple stories in one episode. I was surprised to see her mom in her head. So 2/3 of the stories affected Nish, I don't think the first pain doctor had anything to do with her but it was interesting.
What a solid ending. But I didn't like it quite as much as others — on one hand, I love that it's a prequel and buildup for San Junipero. They knew that one was a fan favorite and they wanted to flesh out the back story a little. And that's cool. Hopefully next season they do it for Hang the DJ or at least Metalhead, but I'm a bit mixed about the episode not standing on its own. I mean, it absolutely does. It really doesn't need any of the references to past episodes to do what it does. But the second or third rule of Black Mirror is that each episode is its own story, and this one isn't. Also, the surprise at the end was a little annoying. How is a mother not going to hate living in her daughter's head? How do they not end up hating each other like the boyfriend and girlfriend did? Why did her mother even need to get in the daughter's head? Just to witness it all? Nah... I must be missing something here. She could have just called her and told her it's done.
What an amazing finale for season 4! I'm totally astonished by this episode and it gave me a lot of answers.
It was just ok. Not my favorite of the season, and it's mediocre compared to so many of the BM greats.
Best episode of the entire series. This was mindblowing and very well done. I liked how the story was told through narration and I loved the twist ending. In the end, that guy got what he deserved
These really long episodes and the season finale definitely were something totally else. I'd say this season was a total comeback compared to the last one.
10/10

Very very entertaining.
Shuri rocked this
episode
Like A Boss.
(that is why she is
The Black Panther)
I really liked the different stories, they were all equally good and twisted.
Never understood what everyone sees in this one for it to be rated as one of the best episodes...the ending is FIRE though.
I’m speechless, hands down the best episode. Love the subplots connecting together to form a twist while also doing some world building
What a satisfying ending
Also, that was like 3 Black Mirror episodes in 1, holy sh
Perhaps the best episode yet. Wow.
Okay this was good one
Holy shit! I can't even describe how good this episode was! How does the Show creators even come up with these ideas?!
This episode was really amazing, it introduced various feeling, and they all are genuine and hardcore. I am not sure if I am supposed to laugh or to cry or what, this episode has it all! despite the ending is really dark.
Doctor: Hey, we want to put your baby momma in your head.
Any man ever: HELLS NAW
The best episode of the series by far, and what we watch Black Mirror for.
Dark, distrubing but you you know you'd do the same.
Mr Brooker you are forgiven.
Only slight problem is that it's impossible to review Black Mirror without spoilers (yeah you can hide them but people look anyway, I know I do!). I do wonder if Netflix have pushed the air time of the series so some corners had to be cut, hopefully not but time will tell.
If you want a best of I'd suggest 1, 4 and 6, with an option on 5.
Tbh, it was hard for me to get into this episode until the ending. The tone seemed to be really off and when it's revealed what a sociopath the tour guide is, then it made more sense how unreliable of a narrator he was.
The payback and the reveal at the end was done really well, but to put someone in infinite pain seems sadistic, even for that guy.
I enjoy the racial overtones of the story. The fact that the white tour guide says "fake news", the museum is called the "Black Museum", and that the father and avenging daughter are both black...it's very poignant and relevant.
This episode is insane! So disturbingly creative .
Geesh... More violence??? I will say that at least this story had threads of mind candy. Also knowing that the story had ties to the life of Penn Gillette could explain why it had a rawness to it.
A great homage to Get Out.
This is surely the best episode of all season 4.

without a doubt the one black mirror episode that has deeply, genuinely, without a fucking doubt tore at my soul and disturbed me to the rawest
