Do yourself a favor and give this show a shot. I just finished watching the season one finale and I loved it. I hope there will be a second season. If not, I'm going to be very annoyed. To say the least.
Completed the #Bodyguard series in Netflix....This one comprising of 6 episodes had a terrific start as well as unexpected & twistful end with lot of drama, twists and turns with well connected dots glueing us to the entire series intact...Very well made & definetly worth watchable...!!
First 2 episodes are a bit slow, and the last 2 are reverting to the good old bad muslim terrorist plot. The bit in the middle is entertaining.
I thought the first episode was amazing it really was a good hook but that hook didn't last long. The rest of the show I found boring and it completely lost my interest.
At least two hours too long for its content (perhaps even three), but its an interesting premise, mixing together corruption at the highest level, the death of a Cabinet minister, gun running and PTSD.
Absolutely fantastic drama, one of the best that BBC has produced even in 2022. Richard Madden does an absolutely fantastic job in such a demanding role. The show had me on the edge of my seat ewith every single episode, perfectly timed cliff hangers and unsuspected moments and plot twists - it has it all. Truly an amazing show & I wish I could go back and watch it all again for the first time. Such a shame it doesn't have a season 2.
Good show & well worth a watch especially for people into conspiracy theory. However Episode 6 seems rushed, they tried to wrap up the show & it's poorly executed (sure the main plot is tied up but lot of sub-plots are left open). In episode 6, some of the characters change their attitude at the snap of the finger which is very strange (it's almost like the writers couldn't figure out a way to transition the characters change of mood so they decide to scrap everything they built up for the character in the first 5 episode & just gave them new attitudes toward David). If you can get over the annoyance of the last episode, you'll enjoy the whole series.
keeps you excited for 6h
A fairly enjoyable show with enough twists and thrills to keep you interested throughout. While there are a number of completely unexplained plots twists, but they don't cause insurmountable issues in terms of watchability. The major issue that I have with the show is the lack of character development throughout.
That was f***n great! I hate politics and usually dont like to watch shows with this theme, but this was soooo exciting, all the intense energy in Richard Madden's act... and Sophie Rundle from Peaky Blinders, and Keely Hawes from he Durrells...OMG what a cast!
I just love BBC shows! And yes, you gonna binge it... no chance to leave it for later... :D
Wasted my time and Boring. The show made David Budd as one of Marvel Superheroes
good overall mini series, the cast is great and the story is solid. my only objection is at the last piece of the puzzle in the last episode, it was rushed and felt wooden as an explanation compared to the rest of what was shown.
Such a thriller. didn't know Rob Stark could act so well. 20 minutes into the pilot and I was already hooked!
I don't get the hype with this show. The main character acts like robotic psycho. I watched until the end but it was just ok. I wouldn't recommend.
A very good series. Great tension all the way through. The suspense was amazing, and the final episode was extremely tense. Well worth a watch :thumbsup_tone1:
A good British spy show that follows a former military man with PTSD who is now serving as a body guard for high up government officials, but gets a bit too much emotionally involved in a scandal and a terrorist cover up. It is intriguing and intense and the characters are well cast. Its a good watch.
Such a good show, amazing action thriller. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time watching it.
I liked acting but storyline was meh for me.
BODYGUARD - 2018 - REVIEW
Richard Madden starrer limited series Bodyguard is an arresting political drama of well defined fictionalized presentation of conspiracies. The slow burn, sharp script executed to perfection by the creative team of BBC keeps you hooked and on edge during the entire 6 Episodes.

According to what I just read, there is going to be a season 2. Therefor, I'll hold up on binging until then. My source: https://www.bosshunting.com.au/culture/bodyguard-season-2/
Fun, complex, lovely acted and written, impeccably shot crime/spy/political drama. The usual very good British stuff, and it starts and finishes with a couple of bangs.
Stale misogynistic plot and overly reliant on racist stereotypes.
A high quality political action thriller with several twists and turns. From the very first scene it got me hooked, and even though it does not manage to continuously serve that same high tension, it kept me locked to my screen. Definitely worth the watch.
The actors brought their A level, writing is decent to good (except maybe some loose ends in the last episode that are rushed) and the choreography is well done.
My two main points of criticisms concern (mostly) the last episode. The first being the very last twist at the end with Nadia being a bad guy after all. And secondly that mental health problems are too much downplayed. They are more being used as a plot device, while not giving character development or consequences. The threat of (untreated) mental health problems is more of an external threat than one that affects the character(s). Like how in the last scene, as soon as the protagonist sees a therapist, everything will be fine (like -hinted- his relationship with his wife will be totally ok too.)
Hi everyone, is the show really over ?? Because, except on this application, no site (even Wikipedia) or other apps attest... Please, if anyone at the confirmation, if possible, with proof, share it ?:ok_hand: @+
Now that is what I am talking about. Top notch quality tv shows. Worth every second spent watching this. I think I will watch it all over again. I recommended to a few friends and they also loved it.
Great. Enjoyed every moment of it
Just finished this. What a great series. Solid acting througout the whole series and a lot of plot twists to really keep you on the edge of your seat. Not the kind of forced twists like you see in some series, but thought through.
Also very intense at moments. And the first 20 minutes of the pilot and the Thornton Circus scene were a real thrill. Top series!
Don't start watching this unless you have the time to finish the all six episodes, because once you begin you won't want to quit. Compelling story. Fabulous acting (Keeley Hawes is at her best in this role and Richard Madden gives a brilliantly multilayered, accessible performance). A great political drama. I think this might be one of the best Limited Edition TV Series of the 2018. (It's available on Netflix) [Political Drama}
Fabulous show... another best of the BBC shows
10/10
It starts a little slow, but that is necessary to set up the characters and plot. I enjoyed this drama immensely - finally some good action shows for adults. Totally believable!

This is great quality drama, as you'd expect from the BBC, just sad they had to go with the tired old trope of male bodyguard sleeping with his subject, but I suspected it was coming when the titles highlighted the word 'body'
