At the clinic, three month old rescue puppy Tyson is being fostered by a family for just one week. But when foster Mum Melissa takes the puppy to Chris for a routine check-up she is confronted with terrible news - Tyson needs major heart surgery or he will die. Despite the expense, the family decides to adopt Tyson because they know no one else will give him a home in his condition. Will Tyson survive the open heart surgery and have a happy future with his new family?
Chris has rushed to the Australian Reptile Park to handle an emergency. Two Tasmanian devil babies, Lara and Lily have been struck down with a mystery illness and are close to death.

However his loving owner and a dedicate band of vets have beaten the odds and kept two year old Koda alive. Australia's smallest horse is also a regular visitor at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and lights up the lives of hundreds of sick kids.
