At the clinic, three month old rescue puppy Tyson is being fostered by a family for just one week. But when foster Mum Melissa takes the puppy to Chris for a routine check-up she is confronted with terrible news - Tyson needs major heart surgery or he will die. Despite the expense, the family decides to adopt Tyson because they know no one else will give him a home in his condition. Will Tyson survive the open heart surgery and have a happy future with his new family?

Chris has rushed to the Australian Reptile Park to handle an emergency. Two Tasmanian devil babies, Lara and Lily have been struck down with a mystery illness and are close to death.

Two boxer puppies are found by police wandering the streets. One has been hit by a car and is coughing up blood. Chris is called to rescue the brothers. First, he must treat the hit and run victim but then it becomes his mission to track down their owners and prevent them going to an animal shelter. The trouble is Chris is bonding with the puppies and is going to find it hard to let go.

This episode focuses on a miniature horse that is suffering from dwarfism disease and was not meant to survive past six months. However his loving owner and a dedicate band of vets have beaten the odds and kept two year old Koda alive. Australia's smallest horse is also a regular visitor at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and lights up the lives of hundreds of sick kids.

Two heartbroken little girls and their Mum are pleading for Dr Chris to save their beloved bunny Alice, who is only 14 weeks old, and the girls' very first pet. The family came home to find something shocking had happened to little Alice. This will be one of Dr Chris' toughest cases.

Jasper, a beautiful kelpie, is brought to Chris in a terrible state. A knock to the head as a puppy has caused severe balance problems but his condition is now deteriorating rapidly. His loving owner Heidi already has a baby to look after but she is constantly assisting Jasper and cannot bear the thought of losing him.

Jen brings in her son's dog Jewel to Dr Chris to find out if she's expecting. The complication? This is an unplanned pregnancy and Jen suspects the father is her own dog, Token. X rays prove Jewel is having a football team of puppies. YA king cobra at the Australian Reptile Park needs urgent attention to remove scales stuck to his right eye. But getting hold of one of the world's most venomous snakes is a frightening experience. Blind in one eye, the cobra is angry and dangerous.

Chris has some challenges ahead of him! First is a beautiful pig who is about to become pork chops if she keeps digging up the family property with her broken nose ring. Her owner, Allison, loves Lola and has asked Chris to find a way to stop the execution. While the solution is simple - a new nose ring - sedating an angry pig turns out to be a tough challenge. Then, naughty Alfred has kidnapped his big brother's guinea pig and taken her onto the trampoline. Unfortunately the game has ended in tears with a paralysed Sugar rushed into the clinic. Will Sugar ever walk again and will Hugo ever forgive his little brother?

Honey the Spoodle has taken a death defying leap out of a car doing 40 kms an hour to chase down a cat. Somehow she has survived but just how serious are her injuries? Meanwhile in nearby Coogee, the search and rescue police have been called out to try to help a kitten trapped underneath a car bonnet. But the stray has other ideas and disappears into the night despite all the locals joining in the search. Will Chris find the stray and will she be ok?

Chris finally has a weekend off vet duties and is heading to Newcastle to catch up with his parents, but a call from his dad sends him on a fascinating detour.

This week Chris tends to little Sydney the cockatiel, who has been squashed in the nest by all his all too loving family. Has he suffered permanent nerve damage or a broken leg? It looks like a lost cause until Chris comes up with a radical treatment which involves a pencil, Pilates and some sticky tape

Betty, a young greyhound who wasn't fast enough on the track has been dumped. Can Chris nurse her back to health and will anyone want to give a home to a washed up greyhound? Then, Chris is about to be confronted with the smallest patient he has ever handled. Twelve year old Elliot's much loved pet mouse, Pinot has developed a massive, cancerous tumour, but surgery on such a pint sized patient is going to be a real challenge. Will Pinot pull through or will a young girl be shattered?
