Only came back to the show because of Zack, so it was very disappointing not to see him in the finale.
I'm going to miss this show. I'm glad they remembered Sweets. Honestly, it was never the same without him.
*And it's over, after 12 seasons, the Smithsonian closes its doors to not open them anymore.*
I have to admit that it has given me a lot of pain. It is true that the last seasons have not been at the level of the first, but "Bones" has never ceased to be a very entertaining series, with which one could escape and have a good time watching and in which their characters you liked. and you wanted things to turn out well at last (and see what happened to the poor).
It will be missed because with it ends an era of procedurals "with charm" ("The Mentalist", "Castle"), which at the moment do not seem to have relief at the moment. If anything Lucifer, but this one is moving further and further away from the procedural category.
The episode begins where the previous one ended, with Brennan, Booth, Angela and Hodgins trapped in the laboratory where Kovac (who continues to flee), has planted several bombs.
As much as Booth tries to deactivate them, there are too many and the lab jumps through the air, although, at first glance, it does not seem that any of our players have been seriously injured.
However, we soon realize that this is not exactly true since something strange happens with Brennan, who does not seem herself.
When finally the emergency teams manage to evacuate them and a neurologist examines and tacs her, Cam informs her that she has no hemorrhage but a strong contusion that has affected the area of her brain that is responsible for processing the information . It is not that Bones has lost his memory, it is that he can not understand things well. For example, he knows the names of the bones but does not know what they refer to. Anyway, Cam tells Brennan that he does not have to be permanent.
Logically this sinks to Brennan, who thinks that by losing the ability to do their job, has lost some of its essence and as much as Booth tries to encourage her throughout the episode, until he recovers, Brennan can not get back the flight.
Brennan's problem also directly affects the investigation, since just before the explosion he believed he had found the key to discover where Kovak was hiding in the bones of his last victim.
Brennan had written down the names of a series of bones on a piece of paper he had kept in a pocket of his robe, but he could not remember what they meant. Yes, he thinks that if he goes to the laboratory to take a look, maybe he will remember.
However, due to the explosion, all the bones of the laboratory have been mixed and what was already very difficult, becomes an almost impossible task.
Brennan "recruits" Clark, Wendell, Arastoo, Daisy and Warren to help her first find the bones of Kovac's latest victim and then find out what was the final clue she had found before the explosion.
The scholars continue to trust that Brennan will be the one to make the final discovery. But Hodgins takes them out of his mistake. In those moments Brennan is not qualified to do it and they will have to step forward and do it.
Hodgins' motivational talk will achieve its effect and the scholars discover what Brennan had discovered: that Kovac was hiding in the victim's place of origin.
This, coupled with the fact that the fellows find DNA from Kovac's accomplice (who turns out to be his wife, although it is not really his wife but his sister, something that the polygraph had passed on to her because all the questions that asked her referred to "her husband"), will make the FBI finally locate Kovac and he ends up dying during his escape when his car is thrown down a ravine.
The definitive disappearance of their lives from Kovac will not be the only good news for our protagonists since Brennan regains his capacity of association of ideas.
In addition, Hodgins finally gets to be "The King of the Lab" every time Cam leaves him in charge of everything when he takes a sabbatical so that the three teenage brothers that she and Arastoo have adopted will adapt to live with them.
On the other hand, Angela's baby has not suffered any damage in the explosion and Hodgins has the feeling that it will be another boy and Aubrey, although he has definitely broken up with Jessica, seems to find a ray of hope on the sentimental level with Karen the psychologist
And here have come twelve seasons of cases and murderers in series, a lot of unresolved sexual tension (and much also resolved), surprising deaths (We still miss you Sweets!), Fellows, experiments and crazy turns of a script
This episode in particular has been somewhat regular: the forceful revelation that Kovac's wife was actually his sister, the almost magical way Brennan recovers, the incredible ability of the scholars to find the bones they needed to solve the case in the chaos of bones in which the laboratory had become.
Anyway, we will accept octopus as a pet because everything ends well and we leave our protagonists happy and eating partridges.
On the positive side, I liked all the memories of great moments in the series like the covert missions of Booth and Brennan, how wonderful Sweets was (and how well he captured Booth and Brennan and their relationship from the start) and also that Hodgins is finally the king of the laboratory and that he and Angela have not lost the child (that many misfortunes have already suffered the poor).
I also liked that all the scholars who have appeared most recently have been the ones who have actually solved the case and that Arastoo and Cam have decided to adopt three brothers who would otherwise have been separated by the system.
Anyway, Bones arrived here, we will miss her and we will always remember Booth and Brennan as an uneven couple more in love with American television.
Well, it didn't suck like the Castle finale but it won't go down in history as remarkable or noteworthy in any way. It was a nice wrap up with many references (Sweets, Vincent's plaque, 4:47,...).
Thank god the amount of cheesiness in the final minutes was bearable.
That's it!! THANK YOU BONES!!
This journey was AMAZING!!
I will always love you.
I happy they have their happy ending.
I'm gonna miss you so much.
I'l have all the memories with me.
THANK YOU! B&B FOVERER!! #FarewellBones
I love that it ended on a good note, but the episode itself was quite dark. I spent all that time thinking that Brennan won't get better. So, as much as I'm grateful that everything turned out alright, the episode just gave me anxiety and a bunch of other negative emotions.
All in all, I grew up watching this show and it's for sure one of my absolute favorites. I can't believe it ended, but it had 12 wonderful seasons :)
Used to love this show, after season 10 it went down hill. The last two episode were too fast to come to a conclusion, easily could of spread the drama out over 4 episodes, built the suspense like it used too "back in the day". Real shame it ended with a rushed season.
Maybe it's the fact that the show has stopped seducing me for a long time, but for a show finale, not just for a season finale, that was pretty common.
They checked all the boxes, closed some plots (Zach f.e.), made the emotions rise up at the end. To embed all this into a story with Kovacs, a story that seemed closed, and definitely something that was nothing more than an afterthought throughout the show, is a convinient construct. The final showdown was disappointing.
Brennan's injury, the effects of her inability to access her knowledge, is mitigated by the fact that, watching this years after it's aired, you know something about the outcome.
Thank you Bones for all this years.
I loved everything. I'm going to miss them so much.
King in the LAB!!!
It ended well, an amazing show with no downs in its journey.
Sure gonna miss them.
They should a episode a year, and it would be great for sure.
It is not ordinary way to end TV Show but I'm really happy that all worked out.

In case you were wondering, this doesn't feel like a series finale all that much. It's always had a problem understanding bringing justice to things. When Bones wasn't smart enough to solve the case, Zach needed to be brought in to solve the case. That would bring the show and his character some much-needed justice. He was nowhere to be seen. The episode also needed to end in the diner as a shoutout to the series as a whole and its foundation. No diner either. In essence, it just felt like an episode. Or rather, a finale without a cliffhanger.
