Feeling glum, Bookaboo confides in his friend Growler, who encourages him to get rid of his blues by joining in a Howling Song. It doesn't do the trick, but fortunately, the actor Jason Priestley arrives to deliver a wonderful reading of Warduff and the Corncob Caper by Mat Head.
Bookaboo's friend Paws brings news of a wood-eating beaver in the area, and Bookaboo must make sure his drumsticks are safe! He is joined by the Canadian actor Adam Beach, who reads him The Great Snortle Hunt by Claire Freedman.
To try and get his bojo back, Bookaboo is encouraged by Paws and Growler to join them in a bit of Scottish dancing. Bookaboo has fun, but it doesn't work! Fortunately, he is joined by the Canadian actress Sheila McCarthy, who reads Walter and the No-Need-to-Worry Suit by Rachel Bright.
Bookaboo's bandmate Growler tries to cheer him up by showing him how to howl like a wolf, but it doesn't go so well! Acclaimed Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent is on hand to read Scruffy Bear and the Six White Mice by Chris Wormell, which totally cheers up the rockstar puppy!
Paws offers to find a celebrity to share a book with Bookaboo, but can only offer himself! Unfortunately, his "speed reading" leaves something to be desired. Luckily, British singer Kate Nash shares the book The Worst Princess by Anna Kemp, which gets Bookaboo his bojo back.
Left with some downtime, Bookaboo tries his paws at tightrope walking. He practices, but keeps falling down! Fortunately, he's interrupted by the famous clown and mime artist James Keylon, who reads Ping & Pong are Best Friends (mostly) by Tim Hopgood - a story with an important message.
To protect his precious maplewood drumsticks, Bookaboo rigs a fiendishly technological protection system, and he's determined to test it out. He adopts beaver teeth and fur, but things don't go as planned. Poor Bookaboo! British comedian Dave Gorman arrives to read Good Little Wolf by Nadia Shireen, which soon gets Bookaboo's bojo back.
Bookaboo imagines he is in space, floating amidst unidentified flying objects in this wonderful homage to 2001. He is interrupted by the Canadian astronaut Julie Payette, who reads him Aliens Love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort.
Bookaboo goes on an expedition in the wilderness, and it takes Paws and Growler some time to find him in his tent. Bookaboo is loving the outdoors, but Paws is not having any fun. Canadian comedian Séan Cullen soon visits them and reads The Great Sheep Shenanigans by Peter Bently and Mei Matsuoka.
Bookaboo is trying his paws at ice hockey, but the combination of ice, skates and puck proves too much for him. He's rescued by Canadian hockey player Georges Laraque, who movingly reads the book Leave Me Alone by Kes Gray and Lee Wildish.
