Breaking Bad

Season 2

Everything great about season 1 just keeps escalating into even more awesomeness. This is where we get a bunch of the greatest supporting characters. Saul, Gus, and Mike are all so amazing that I'm really excited to watch season 3 where they grow in screen time. I love how this series seems to escalate each season, where things don't "go back to normal". No, events happen and have consequences.

Now, I will point out that this season has my biggest issue with the series. And I say biggest issue, but it is still tiny. Like, grain sized. SPOILER ALERT I don't like that they build up this dramatic, devastating destruction the whole season, when in the end it wasn't something really due to Walter White being terrible. Yes, of course it is terrible that he let that girl die. But come on, the link from that to major plane crash is crazy. I think it would bother me less had it been completely random, not loosely/unrealistically linked. What I'm glad about though, is that it isn't a big deal overall.

Thinking back on this show, I had always thought that each season was better than the last. Now that I rewatch it eight years after my first viewing, I don't entirely agree with that assessment. I thought season 1 was better overall than season 2. This season starts strong, and it also ends very strong. But there's a lot in the middle that progresses painfully slowly at times. I was never bored for even a second during season 1, but there were many times I found my attention wandering off throughout the middle episodes of season 2. Regardless, it's still a great season of television. Episodes 9, 11, and 12 are exceptionally good.

Good, enjoyable season. I liked it a bit more than the first season. The finale was a letdown.

83 | This season is definitely much better than the first one. It introduced us with couple of kingpin and how they are work. It also shows us how dengerous it is the drug bussiness. Whoever play in it should ready to kill or be killed. We also got a lot of character development especially for Walter White. He completely gives his life to the devil and becomes one. Jane influences in this season also adds depth to Jesse and the season in general. Gus Fring is the most exciting planted plot that we will be see in third season.

After a very promising first season, the second season makes a qualitative leap making this TV show a unique product of its kind with incredible cinematography and writing.

The show’s finding its stride, really nailing the humanity and tragedy of Jessie, Walter’s darkness and consequences of his actions, and Skylar’s ever rising suspicions.

Even better than season 1, this one ups the stakes without it going off the rails and there is still enough humor to keep it from getting really bleak. Jesse gets more screen-time and characterization away from Walt, as do Skylar and Hank.

Once again the series shows how great it as at maintaining tension (even when you know the main characters aren't gonna die)!

Only watched 3 episodes so far but I'm very disappointed. Season 1 was pretty slow but the content was good enough to be entertained. Season 2 so far is both slow and boring.
