What a brilliant episode, and an incredible performance by Ruby Cruz. I could see this one potentially being nominated.

Wow! This was an amazing episode! Basically, it's the "origin" story of Annie.

If you saw the reveal of Pop's secret being made known to Nadia coming from a mile away in the previous episode, don't worry, because "The Laughing Place" will make up for it. It will surprise, delight, and shock you. And it will do so more than once. One of the best episodes of television I can recall seeing in recent memory.

Quite sad and disturbing but you cannot expect the Annie backstory to be cheerful.

Everything would have been just fine if young Annie hadn't been good at math. Beyond that, the actress playing young Annie did a terrific job up to and including reflecting the mannerisms of older Annie. And that twist at the end? Superb.

This was a great episode. You can see Ruby Cruz’s skills highlighted, it’s really nice to see.

Annie slowly becoming mad was really interesting.

I’m glad we got to see a little bit of hope at the end. I really don’t want Joy to turn out like Annie.

Damn, what a great background episode...Annie you crazy, but shame on the parents, should've gotten her help.

If Annie's mother wasn't mentally ill and raising a child with her screwed up beliefs then Annie wouldn't have the same screwed up beliefs however she'd most likely would still have the mental illness and I'm NOT referring to her being dyslexic which she was finding her way to overcome that challenge. Her father should not have let Annie stay with the mother when he obviously knew that his wife wasn't all there mentally. He got out of there but left poor Annie behind. I knew from the start of the first episode that it wouldn't have been Annie's daughter. But I thought that she had cut it out of someone.

I cried.... As depressing as it was, this was fair to all the characters, and there was a fullness to it. I'm still crying.

Could have been shorter. It dragged in some parts.

The best episode of either season of Castle Rock so far (and potentially the entire run of the show), and one of the best episodes of TV I've seen in a long time.

After a few lacking episodes of Castle Rock, this episode returns the show to where it should be, focused around Annie and not the supernatural garbage being forced into the show. Steven King works best when grounded and not forcing unexplained supernatural elements into the world.

Ruby Cruz absolutely smashed this. An amazing performance.

A standout episode. I love how this is giving us so much incredible backstory on such an iconic film character. It makes me so excited to see where this show ventures next season, and the season after, considering all of King’s iconic characters.

And kudos to all of the casting this season. Stellar.
