Well, that was an ending. Rita's abdomen can't seem to catch a break. But first, I have no idea what the thought process is behind the cult's decision. They're essentially saying, "Well, it's been 400 years, so let's pick the most batshit crazy woman we know to be the vessel for this important woman from our shared past." Because that makes all kinds of sense.
Great episode again! The actresses in this show are amazing, really emotional stuff.
The ending ruined the whole episode and sidestory for me. What a bullshit way to go...
I can imagine how some may either love it or hate it, but I think Lizzy Caplan has done a phenomenal job in this role. Undertaking a character originated by the incomparable Kathy Bates is NOT an easy feat.
If I close my eyes, it’s the same exact voice with the same exact cadence. And it’s beyond an impersonation. She really envelopes what a younger, unraveling Annie Wilkes would be.
Bravo.
The whole other story going on that kinda just all of a sudden one episode happened when Ace died makes this show and this episode a bit of a cluster F!

There's no way that this episode could have matched the wonder that was episode 5. Still, this show is loaded with surprises, enabled by the fact that it's a single season anthology and not a never-ending soap opera story-arc. Joy's story gets more complicated here and the fact that she still meets with Annie after the backstory told in Episode 5 makes me question her sanity. The Nadia and Abdi story line really isn't that interesting and they seem to be necessary only to assist in the story of Joy, Annie, and Pop.
