I knew Shay was out sometime around this time, because I've seen some S3 episodes that she wasn't in. In fact, all of the episodes of this show that I've seen before I started watching in order have been after Shay was on the show. But, damn, I didn't know it was going to be so quick like that. Can't say I care a whole lot, though. Never liked Shay as a character, and her character arc had hit a dead end. I already know that I like her replacement, Sylvie Brett, fairly well.
The first flashback they did with all the old characters present was kind of neat.

i didn't think it would hurt so bad since i already knew what happens to shay (i started watching after her character) but it does really really hurt. i do love sylvie though
Boring episode bloated wirh rubbish flashbacks. I cannot really say I miss Shay very much.
I binge watched the first two seasons earlier this year, and somehow within a few days Shay became such an important character that her leaving hit me as much as 10 year characters death has, a testament to the writing of this show and to Lauren as an actress.

I cannot believe that they killed off Shay!!! She was one of the best characters of the show, and her death was just to give more drama to Gabby (who already has tons of storylines going on for her) and Severide... Hated it!
