It's amazing to see how much TV has changed since 1977.
In the first few episodes, it feels like it is an amateur drama feature. Dodgy props (the school room of hodge podge furniture was my favourite), iffy acting, and some awesome musical accompaniment. But it definitely got more professional as it went on.
The computer was awesome. As expected of the time, it was a big and scary beast (after all, this was before the PC was invented). And being of the time, there was no special affects at all...
There are definite similarities to Enid Blytons Famous Five series (at the time, this was high adventure).
Children of the Stones isn't the most compelling viewing, and hasn't aged well. But it was entertaining if you are in the mindset of seeing what people watched way back then.

This showed up on my Youtube feed. I thought it was great. I love old sci-fi shows like this. It's listed as a children's show, and technically it is, but there was a tinge of horror to it. There was a lot of stuff that people now think of as pseudo science, or conspiracy theories like bear worship, the ley lines being energy conduits, etc. Fun stuff.
