Bravo. Solid opening for a show that certainly holds the necessary elements to keep viewers alert.

This is a fairly strong inaugural episode, and a respectful spiritual successor to The Silence of the Lambs. I like that we get to see the fallout of the events from that film, which is something we never got in the Hannibal movie. In particular, I'm interested in how they are handling PTSD with respect to the characters of Clarice Starling and Catherine Martin. I also really liked the irony of the therapy session, where Clarice is now the case study subject who is being deflective to a psychiatrist that is trying to coax information from her. I also liked how the title of the episode has a double meaning, which becomes evident when the motive of the antagonist is revealed in the climax. All in all, a very solid start. Interested to see where this goes.

about as average as average can be. If it wasn't for the connection to silence of the lambs this would just be another NCIS/CSI clone.

Under-rated since the show has like 30% good reviews. Hannibal of course is hard to compete with. It had way better reviews and a strong following. NBC made a huge mistake letting it go.
I find Clarice just as well made and just as engaging so far though. I was surprised it was so well shot and directed. It is a worthy follow-up to Silence of the Lambs.

Hmm  Hate the way have written it so that everyone seems to be down on Clarise. Can only think it's because this way they can make her they female hero.

If you grew up in Kanawha County, WV, then I expect that you should know how to correctly pronounce Kanawha.

If this writing quality, acting, pacing, reverence and feel continue, this will be the best show on television.

Felt it was a little generic. If you take away all the "mentions" of Wild Buffalo Bill, the PTSD flashbacks to his arrest, and the overdone "You sure you're ready to go back to work ?" cliches ... well, you're left with yet another cookie-cutter FBI tracks a serial killer show.

It doesn't make it bad, just hopefully they have a little more in store, other than milking our nostalgia so we feel like sticking with a "meh" show.

I just can't get over this crappy fake West Virginia accent.

What happened to Clarice after Buffalo Bill? Now you know. This season CBS Police action series opens with an emotional and nostalgic episode, trying to mix artistic directing and great photography (like SoL movie) with a new story line. I don’t believe it to be the best season opener ever but it tops both FBI and SWAT openers. Definitively will continue to watch but I am always afraid that a day will come in which they will ruin it.
