Cliffhangers attempted to revive the genre of movie serials in a made-for-TV format. Each hour-long episode was divided into three 20-minute (including commercials) segments featuring different storylines. During the series' run, three serials were featured - a mystery, a science fiction/western hybrid, and a horror story.

1. "Stop Susan Williams" features an investigative reporter on the trail of conspirators. 2. Geoffrey Scott stars as Marshal Jim Donner in "The Secret Empire," a Western laced with science fiction. 3. In "The Curse of Dracula," the vampire (Michael Nouri) is transformed into a 20th century professor and ladies' man.

1. Susan (Susan Anton) tracks a recruiter (Don Knight) of mercenaries in Kenya. 2. The evil Tara (Diane Markoff) offers to rescue Marshal Donner (Geoffrey Scott) in return for his enslavement. 3. Mary (Carol Baxter) escapes from Dracula (Michael Nouri) and meets up with Kurt (Stephen Johnson).

1. Jungle terrors imperil Susan as she seeks her brother's killer. 2. The underworld emperor seeks to bend Marshal Jim's will. 3. Jealousy spurs Dracula's young mistress (Antoinette Stella) to take revenge on Mary (Carol Baxter).

Susan and her editor are stalked by danger in New York City as they investigate an import-export firm; young Billy's life is threatened by Thorval's troops; and a confident Dracula spells Kurt's doom.

US suspense series. Part 1: Stop Susan Williams: Watery Grave. Susan Williams and her associates face the possibility of a watery grave in New York harbor. Part 2: The Secret Empire: Attack of the Phantom Riders. Jim Donner tries to save Millie, who lies unconscious in the path of a runaway wagon Part 3: The Curse or Dracula-.Sepulchre of the Undead. Count Dracula manages to trap Kurt von Helsing in a stone tomb.

1. The freighter's strange cargo sends Susan (Susan Anton) to Brazil. 2. Marshal Donner is mistaken for a gold-mine raider and thrown into his own jail. 3. Kurt gains an ally in his crusade to destroy Dracula.

Susan's search for a Brazilian smelting plant takes her up a piranha-filled river. Thorval orders Billy's execution. Kurt and Mary (Carol Baxter) learn the identity of their new ally against Dracula.

1. Susan and Schoengarth (Susan Anton, Michael Swan) go to Zurich to locate a Russian physicist. 2. Thorval strikes a deal with Keller (Peter Breck) and orders an attack on the Partisans' stronghold. 3. Danger stalks Mary inside a mission.

1. The pieces of the great conspiracy begin to fit together. 2. A surprise rescuer aids an afflicted Maya (Pamela Brull). 3. Mary's vampire mother prescribes a plan to free Mary from Dracula's clutches.

Susan (Susan Anton) learns who killed her brother. Donner strives to aid the captured Partisans. Kurt and Mary (Carol Baxter) search for Dracula's coffin in the conclusion of “The Curse of Dracula."
