5x02 - Molé: 6.8/10 (Good, Slightly Flawed)
Although the scenes back at home were great, Miguel's felt a touch rushed in comparison. If my memory serves me correctly, Carmen once said that Hector knew about Miguel. However, Hector tells Miguel that Carmen left him before they could have children, which is a plot point that, in my opinion, deserved more development and possibly warranted another episode. It seems that the writers want to get back to the main storyline, and to do so, our three lead characters need to go back home. When Miguel realizes that Carmen's depiction of his father is accurate, and he seemingly forgives her for lying to him, it feels a little abrupt. However, it's possible that Miguel's father, Hector, might make another appearance this season or in a later one.
Miguel's epiphany and subsequent embrace of Johnny was the episode's high point and one I had anticipated for quite some time. A solid episode that primarily serves to set up for the future, keeping me more eager to see what happens next.
Fun episode, with some good action scenes, and Chozen was great! But was Hector's character development written by a 13 year old?
Young Chozen was interesting. His uncle didn't take it easy on him at all though... :o But I still had to laugh when he thought for a moment and then decided to put the pillow in again after that intense speech :D
Tory is really conflicted. That "Not today" (regarding bringing the trophy) was a good start but unfortunately she eventually decided to give in. Can't really blame her though as she doesn't really have another option and Silver is good with tempting offers. I do hope that she's still somewhat conflicted and that this won't be the end of it (but I'm already convinced that this'll pop up again).
I really liked Chozen's speech about honor btw :) And it was really important for Tory.
Johnny's "no Spanish" isn't working out that well... :o xD
At least Robby's there to help him. It felt a bit ironic that Robby cheated (and that Johnny liked it) but IMO it's "fine" as it was necessary for them (I'm a bit surprised that the other guy didn't cheat though and that he didn't caught Robby).
Nice Hot Ones reference btw :D
I'm quite glad that Johnny, Robby, and Miguel all survived in this episode. What is Johnny thinking showing up in FBI shirts as Americans in Mexico and looking for a dangerous criminal?!?
Hector is quite a character... He started off so nice, then it sounded a bit like he has regrets when he said "I made a lot of money back in the day", and in the end he turned out to be a super bad person... :o At least Miguel knows now.
I'm especially happy that Miguel didn't get shot at the end! IMO it was already scary enough when Hector put the gun on the counter. He surprisingly truly seems to like Miguel somehow but IMO it was still super stupid to make a call as soon as he left the store (who knows what Hector would do in his mood when he sees this from the store). I'm super relieved that Hector did apparently not see Johnny and Robby in their FBI shirts - I was afraid to hear a shot any moment... :o
I wonder how easy/difficult it'll be for Miguel and Robby to get along after all of their history - they could basically become brothers due to Johnny and Carmen.
Chozen didn't last that long in his undercover mission... :o I though it would take Silver a bit longer but it was always super risky because Chozen is so honest.
I'm really glad that he didn't get hurt though!
His fighting and the "you cross line, you will beg for mercy" was so badass!!! <3
Undercover Sato is undone surprisingly soon in the season, albeit after a nice fight and some character bits. Really curious how Tory is going to develop this season. The turn of Miguel's (potential?) father is nicely done, and can't wait to see the next beat of his reunion with Johnny and Robby.
If this season crosses the line and goes again to Mexico, they will have to beg for mercy

Great episode! I can't be the only one that thought Hector was going to come out and start shooting once Johnny and and Robby showed up and found Miguel--I was worried for a minute! I have a feeling that storyline isn't quite finished yet though. Chozen was freaking awesome this episode as well! I am excited to see where the rest of the season goes from here.
