Comedy Now! has featured over 200 guests performing a one-hour set of stand-up comedy since 1997. The show has been home to Canada's rising comedians, where early-career performances on the show have led to much larger opportunities in various other television series and national comedy tours. Brent Butt, Sean Cullen, Glen Foster, Jessica Holmes, Elvira Kurt, Shaun Majumder, Alan Park, Nikki Payne, Ron Sparks, Winston Spear, Russell Peters, Harland Williams, Fraser Young, and countless other comedians got their big breaks through Comedy Now!. Who else will become a Canadian icon in comedy? It's likely that they will be featured on Comedy Now! first.

Gord is an edgy comedian, writer, and musician. Growing up French-Canadian and Irish in Timmins, he credits early Saturday Night Live for stoking his imagination, and names the usual suspects as inspirations: Pryor, Carlin, Bruce. But having played bass in the band Dogpile for years, and toured Europe twice, he has no illusions about the entertainment industry in this country. Glenn Sumi writes, "Watching the downtown dude grab a mike, pace the stage and rant is like experiencing a law of nature. You can't imagine him doing anything else, even when he bombs. You get the feeling he wants to take the art form, and you, to different places." He has several CDs available of his work, and continues to travel comedy clubs, especially Yuk Yuk's.
