Containment: Season 1

1x01 Pilot

It's always nice to see Claudia Black in a full series. The only thing better is the look you get from co-workers when they approach, you tell them "Four to six feet!"

I love shows like this and movies like Contagion. That movie messed me up big time! I still flinch when someone around me sneezes, etc. We know with recent events of Ebola situations like this is very much real. I love Jake and his Zombie Apocalypse comment. That made me laugh. Watching how we as a people react to such a situation is pretty by the book. I mean going into riot mode isn't a far stretch in my opinion.

Based on the previews of up coming episodes I am looking forward to seeing how the sh** hits the fan!

Good start! I like how they managed to show a little bit of the several characters to introduce them to the viewers.
I'm looking forward to see how the dynamics will be between them all

Loving this series. What Maiklas3000 said is so true. Can we all just work together? was my thought. Looks like this will be a great TV show. It's truly a eye opener to reality.

The pilot felt like a TV show, I mean in a way that broke immersion for me. The strings are too visible. Dr. Lommers, played by Claudia Black of Farscape fame, interacts unconvincingly with the lead character, Alex Carnahan. The child actors did not always do a good job of acting like kids when they were in the background. I don't know whether to blame the writing, the directing, or the actors.

However, it was good enough that I'll give the show some more leash. The topic of viral outbreaks is well worn, but as one of the biggest threats to civilization, it's perhaps worth another take. I like that the virus is influenza-based, as so we have been warned by virologists and history, i.e., the 1918 influenza pandemic. The rabies-like behavior gives the show a dash of zombie apocalypse, and as much as I'd like to call it unrealistic, who knows what could be done with genetic engineering?
