Martin tells Gail that Nicky's obsession with St Luke's will be over in a few weeks. Gail forces herself to keep quiet when Ivy takes Nicky to church. Nicky takes possession of his cassock and Ivy is very proud of him.Jim decides not to bother with planning permission for the extension and begins work. Vera is horrified that Jim is building in the back yard and tells Jack to stop him. When Vera's car breaks down she asks Kevin to look at it but he hasn't the time.
