Michelle's beside herself with worry wondering where Ryan's got to. Roger's unhappy that Janice has promised Wiki she can hold a knicker party in their flat without even consulting him. Carla and Liam call in the Rovers to see if there's any news of Ryan. Maria clocks them as they leave the pub together and is immediately jealous. Jack and Vera take a trip to Blackpool to visit their new house. Tina calls in the salon and David introduces her to Audrey and Maria. Audrey's put out when Tina says the smell in the salon makes her feel sick. The factory girls look forward to Wiki's knicker party apart from Sally who says she's got better things to do. The police call to see Michelle to get Ryan's details. David fills Tina in on a bit of family history including Richard Hillman. Jack and Vera arrive back from Blackpool. Vera heads home feeling tired, while Jack goes to the Rovers for a quick pint. Carla persuades Liam to attend a trade fair with her. She books the hotel and accidentally books a double room. She's secretly pleased at her mistake. Michelle sets off to looks for Ryan. Upon his return from the Rovers, Jack goes to wake Vera but is shocked to discover she has passed away in the chair.
Jack sits next to Vera and sings to her unable to come to terms with her death. Michelle and Steve search in vain for Ryan. Nick promises to phone if he turns up at his house. David and Tina share a kiss and head upstairs as Gail arrives home. In a state of shock Jack quietly breaks the news to Molly and Tyrone in the backyard of No.9. Molly phones an ambulance and Tyrone goes to find Paul. Wiki's knicker party takes place. Roger calls in but quickly leaves when the girls suggest he could model the underwear for them. A crowd has gathered outside No.9 and Jack breaks the news that Vera's died. The paramedics take Vera out to the ambulance. Maria tells Liam she's arranged for them to go and look at a wedding venue at the weekend. She's put out when Liam tells her he's going to a trade fair with Carla and she'll have to postpone the appointment. Carla can see Maria's worried. Jack goes outside, talking to the pigeons in the yard, and breaks down.
Jack's worried he'll have to make a speech at Vera's funeral. David sets off for his court hearing with Gail and Tina in support. Liam insists the reason he returned from Birmingham early was because he was missing Maria. Maria's pleased. Liam and Carla return to the factory. They're both slightly awkward with each other. Michelle admits to Steve she wants to know if Alex is okay now he knows Wendy isn't his biological mother. Tony suggests to Carla that she and Liam were looking rather cosy when he turned up at the hotel. Carla's dismissive and the bedroom booking was just a mix-up. Terry lets himself into No.9. Jack's pleased to see him while Paul's uncomfortable. Terry doesn't recognise his own son and Paul has to be introduced. David returns from court having been given a £300 fine and point on his licence as and when he gets one. Vera's funeral takes place at the crematorium. Jack gets to his feet to say a few words but has to clutch the lectern for support. Tyrone and Molly are worried he's going to collapse but Jack's determined to pay his respects.
Liam is bemused. Audrey tells Maria she owes it to him to at least talk and heads into the hotel to tell everyone there's a slight hitch. Carla pulls Fiz to one side desperate to know what's going on. Maria brings up Liam calling out Carla when he had the accident, but realises Liam already knows about it from Carla, fuelling her suspicions even more. Liam has nearly won her back round when Carla texts saying "Don't make the biggest mistake of your life. I want you". Maria throws the phone and runs off. Carla stands outside the hotel. Liam catches up with her and admits he loves her. Maria comes round. The ceremony commences and Maria walks down the aisle, glancing at Carla, upset. At the reception, Liam begins a speech about how much he loves Maria. A teary Carla makes for the toilets. Maria and Carla row in the toilet. Maria slaps Carla. Ryan delivers his speech, but Alex enters the room. Michelle drags Alex outside. Helen and Barry are trying to perk up a flustered Ryan, Michelle joins, but Alex follows trying to introduce himself to his real grandparents. Helen and Barry are confused but Steve leads him away. Michelle passes him off as 'troubled'. She puts Alex in a cab with Lloyd, then decides to get in with him just as Ryan comes upon the scene. Liam steps in to look after Ryan while she's gone. Maria throws the bouquet and it hits Carla. There's a scrabble and Sean gets it. Liam and Maria stumble into their room kissing while Carla is outside the hotel, upset.
Ryan tells Michelle he's going to get in contact with his real dad Nick. Kirk and Schmeichel visit Chesney at his foster parents' house. Chesney's very down. Gail and Audrey discuss Tina's abortion in the cafe. Becky overhears but thinks they're talking about Sarah. Becky tells Jason that Sarah's had an abortion. Tony apologises to Carla and assures her that he wouldn't have bought into the factory without her consent. Jason storms round to No.8 and accuses Gail and Sarah of going behind his back and aborting his child. David eavesdrops from the kitchen. Gail assures Jason they weren't talking about Sarah. David realises with horror they must have been discussing Tina. Kirk gives Claire a piece of his mind for getting Social Services to take Chesney away. Claire feels terrible. Liam and Carla hatch a plan. They accuse Wiki of stealing the knickers hoping to shame the real thief into owning up. Wiki is horrified when Carla suspends her from her job. Kelly admits to the factory girls that she stole the knickers. David confronts Gail about Tina's abortion. Gail is forced to tell him the truth. David is incandescent with rage and packs his bags. Gail tries to stop him leaving but David pushes her away sending her tumbling down the stairs.
Maria asks Liam if he thinks they have a future together but he can't answer. Ted talks about his sexuality. Gail tries to take it in her stride and Tina finds the whole thing hilarious. Maria leaves Liam and moves in with Fiz. Carla wants to know what's going on. Maria tells her that she and Liam have split up. Carla conceals her delight. Audrey calls in on Gail and Ted. She tries to flirt with Ted until Gail shocks her by telling her that Ted's gay. Julie's put out to find Kirk's invited Chesney to the cinema with them. Maria cries her eyes out at Fiz's. house. Fiz reckons she should give Liam another chance. Leanne gets a part-time job at the Rovers. Roy relents and tells Becky that Jason is welcome back in the cafe but Becky's not interested. Roy's confused. Liam calls round to see Carla. He blames her for wrecking his marriage. They have a full-scale row and he storms out. Maria decides that Fiz is right and tries to call Liam. Liam ignores her call and returns to Carla. He finally admits his true feelings for her and they end up in bed.
Vernon's working in the café but his mind is on his song-writing and not on the job in hand. Roy's cross with him. Dev has a drink with Nina and Prem. Prem tells him that he'd like him to become Chairman of the new Asian Business Group which he's setting up. Dev accepts. Teresa confesses to Jerry that she's been slipping him extra tablets. Jerry's horrified. Nina tries to flirt with Dev when Prem's not looking. Dev's uncomfortable and asks Nina to call round later on her own. Teresa tries to explain to Jerry how she just wanted to feel needed and how much she loves him, but Jerry's in shock and accuses her of trying to kill him. Gail tells Joe how she doesn't want their relationship to mess up David and Tina's relationship and wonders if they should finish. Joe begs her to reconsider. Vernon sings his new song "(Don't Fall Into) The Mason's Arms" to Liz. Dev tells Nina he wants to end their affair as it's unfair on Prem. Nina blackmails him and insists they continue or she'll make sure Dev's cut out of the Asian Business Group. Dev's not impressed. Jerry threatens to report Teresa for attempted murder. Teresa's panic-stricken.
Liam is deeply upset by Carla's rejection. Tony's suspicious. Amber entertains Darryl in the flat but they're interrupted by David and Tina. Molly invites Kevin and Sophie round for supper. Pam regales Sophie with stories of her mis-spent youth to take her mind off Rosie. Kevin's grateful. The stags play a game of "Whose wife or girlfriend would you like to sleep with?". Tony presses Liam for an answer. It suddenly dawns on Liam that Tony knows about his affair with Carla. The girls arrange a surprise party and stripper in the Rovers for Carla. She's forced to join in although secretly she's torn apart. Leanne can't believe that Carla's told Liam it's over between them. Carla explains she's done it for his sake, Maria's sake and the baby. Rita and Audrey enjoy the stripper a much as the girls. Carla suggests Maria should go and find Liam and tell him about the baby. Maria takes her advice and sets off to town in a cab. As the stags set off for a lap dancing club Liam can't find his wallet containing the kitty. Tom offers to go back to the bar to look for it but Tony insists Liam goes instead. As Liam sets off across the road he's killed by an oncoming car. The stags are shocked as Tony cradles Liam's dead body.
Maria arrives at the scene of the accident. She sobs uncontrollably over Liam's dead body as she tells him that she's pregnant with his baby. David and Tina make themselves comfy in Dev's flat. Darryl and Amber are fed up. Steve phones Michelle and she and Carla rush to the scene of the accident. Michelle's distraught when she finds out that Liam's been killed in a hit and run. Carla's bereft but tries to cover her true emotions in front of Tony. Kevin's upset as he blames himself for not protecting his daughters properly. Sophie tries to comfort him. Tom's in a state of shock. He tells Tony how it could easily have been him instead. Tony's quick to point out it was just a terrible accident. Amber throws David and Tina out pretending her dad's on his way home. Darryl assures Amber he's not just after sex and he's happy to wait for the right time. Fiz and Audrey do their best to look after poor Maria. Tina reckons there's more to Joe and Gail's relationship than they're letting on. David's appalled at the thought. Tyrone's delighted after a successful evening selling dodgy shirts. Pam's impressed. Michelle breaks the news to Ryan that his Uncle Liam is dead. Carla goes to bed emotionally drained. Tony slips out of the flat and disposes of Liam's wallet in the canal.
Fiz can't find the cat but she comes across some womens underwear. Immediately Fiz is suspicious thinking that John must be having an affair. Maria questions Tom about Carla and Lad Rags. Tom admits that Carla is a partner in the business. Maria's upset wondering why they kept it a secret from her. Norris keeps bothering customers in The Kabin with his competition questions. He's driving Rita mad. John arrives at his grandmother's house. He sees Fiz approaching the attic room and realises that the game's up. Tony tells Leanne he's dropping the price of the flats again and wants her to give it her best sales push. Maria tells Tony that she thinks Liam and Carla might have been having an affair. Tony doesn't flinch and assures Maria that wasn't the case. Maria feels comforted. John confesses to Fiz that Rosie's locked in the attic and the cat was a lie. Fiz realises she's living with a mad man. Molly and Pam arrive back from a wedding fair. Pam winds Tyrone up saying how she's booked a horse-drawn carriage, white doves and a harpist. As John opens the attic door, Rosie smashes him over the head with the towel rail and then rushes down the stairs to freedom. Fiz calls after her but she's gone.
Steve purposely instigates a row with Michelle. She strops off to the wedding alone. Steve's secretly pleased his plan is starting to work. Tony and Carla's wedding takes place. Carla looks a million dollars and Tony's the happiest man alive as they exchange vows. Pat is Tony's best man and Leanne is Carla's bridesmaid. Kevin drunkenly tips guacamole down Carla's dress. Sally's embarrassed and Carla accuses them of having no class. Sally's furious and resolves to get her revenge. Steve and Becky are left alone in the Rovers. Blanche comes in and continues to demand free drinks. Steve and Becky flirt with each other. Graeme puts a fiver on a three horse accumulator and wins £340.50 much to Peter's consternation. Ken and Deirdre are annoyed with Peter when he forgets to collect Simon from school. Mary calls to see Norris and gives him a pair of gold cufflinks she's won in a competition. Norris, Mary, Jed and Blanche all enjoy drinks in the Rovers. Sally finds Maria sitting alone crying over Liam. Drunk and bent on revenge, Sally tells Maria about Carla and Liam's affair and shows her the video on Rosie's phone. In a fury Maria goes in search of Carla but she's too late as the guests have just waved Tony and Carla off on their honeymoon. Michelle and Tom try to calm Maria down but she's hysterical. She sobs her heart out, her memories of Liam totally ruined.

Jed tells Emily and Norris that he's about to come into some money and should soon be out of their hair. Norris is pleased. Rosie chats up Gary and reminds him about her birthday party. Jed finds Tony alone in the factory. He threatens to go the police and tell them what he knows about Jimmy, Tony's hired killer. Tony loses his temper and strangles Jed with a negligee. He then bundles Jed's lifeless body into a big wicker basket. Joe paints on a smile for Gail but really he's worried sick. He admits to Kevin that he's been evicted from his flat and he's in a financial mess. Rosie cancels her birthday party as she wants to spend the evening alone with Gary. The Underworld Christmas party takes place. Tony uses the wicker basket as a makeshift bar. Janice, Kelly, Julie, Sean, Fiz and Wiki dance around unaware that Jed's inside the basket. Tony's inwardly panicking. Colin gives Rita some perfume and asks her to have Christmas lunch with him. Rita's touched and accepts. Michelle arrives back from her gig with JD. JD makes it clear that he fancies her. Sally and Kevin arrive home and are furious to find Rosie drunk ha
Tony and Carla exchange Christmas presents. He gives her the negligee he used to strangle Jed. Carla wonders why it's so creased. Joe puts the finishing touches to Gail's kitchen and gives her an expensive watch for Christmas. Tina's secretly worried about her dad's finances. Emily's concerned that Jed's not been home all night. Tony sneaks into the factory intent on disposing of Jed's body. He gets a shock when there's a groan from the basket. Jed's still alive. Anna and Eddie gatecrash the Platts Christmas dinner. Joe quietly seethes but Gail insists they make an effort. The Websters join them for drinks. Tony ties Jed to a chair and explains that he has two options; either he kills Jed or he gives Jed a flat to live in and a £3,000 pay-off to keep his mouth shut. Steve lies to Michelle saying he's meeting Jim for a drink. He and Becky sneak into the cab office and swap presents. They kiss passionately. Roy and Hayley run a soup kitchen for the homeless from the café. Tony sneaks into No.3 to get Jed's things. He's horrified to discover Wiki has let herself in to prepare lunch. Tony hides upstairs. Fiz gets a Christmas card from John but she tells Maria that she's not interested. Wiki cooks Polish Christmas dinner for Emily, Norris and Mary. Wiki's drunk and Norris is unimpressed. Jed accepts Tony's offer of a flat in Wigan and agrees to keep quiet. Michelle goes looking for Steve. She finds him in the cab office unaware that Becky's hiding under the desk. Maria goes to visit Liam's grave. She's incensed to find flowers from Tony and Carla on the grave. Gary turns up at No.8 and everyone starts rowing. Joe loses his temper and throws the Windasses out. Gail's embarrassed and Joe storms off in a huff. Maria bumps into Tony. He warns her that there's plenty of room next to Liam in the graveyard.
Neither Steve, Lloyd or Eileen want to work on New Year's Eve so they close the cab office. Jason arranges to meet Molly in the Rovers. Tyrone overhears and is immediately jealous. Molly and Tyrone have a row. Leanne kisses Peter under the mistletoe in the Rovers. Blanche gives Deirdre a betting slip to remember her by when she's gone. If they put a monkey on the moon by 2030, then Deirdre will be a wealthy woman! Dev has Tara round for dinner and they raise their glasses to a better year. Peter goes to collect Simon from Ken and Deirdre's house and moves him back into his flat. Peter looks longingly at the bottle of whisky on his coffee table. Tyrone finds Molly crying alone. She tells him their relationship is over and she wants to sell the house. Tyrone's shocked. As the regulars count down to midnight in the back yard of the Rovers there's a huge explosion from the back yard of No.9. The bio-diesel explodes and Pam and Darryl are both injured. Tyrone phones an ambulance while Molly rushes to Pam and Darryl's aid. Meanwhile, Liz and Lloyd snog round the corner in Rosamund Street.
