I expected it to be at least somewhat outdated as so much time has passed and so much information turned out to be wrong (probably manly information from journalists and politicians that didn't listen to (real!) scientists) but it didn't feel outdated at all (I'm not an expert on this field so I cannot assess the correctness but it did at least feel right and didn't conflict with my limited knowledge in that area and with what I heard). If this wasn't from Vox I wouldn't even give this a try... But I'm really impressed. Good job Vox :)
Anyway, it was nice to see such a take with a different focus (initially most news reports were simply doom and gloom). It offered a lot of background knowledge, looked at history and science, etc. I really liked it!
It was also so interesting to watch this now where we might finally transition from a pandemic to an endemic.
And even almost two years later I still learned a lot! <3
Also: It's so incredibly sad that we have another war in Europe now that we're starting to get hold of SARS-COV-2 thanks to our modern scientific achievements.
PS: I wanted to watch this right away but I was still desperately waiting for a vaccination and a bit too scared to learn about the consequences of an infection, etc. (not that scared because it's from Vox but I basically tried to avoid any scary news as I was already isolating myself and had no doubts about the vaccination).
PPS: That one narrator was kinda a bit dark (maybe he could voice a DC character?) :o :D I didn't mind that but it was a bit unsettling/frightening but it got much better towards the end.
The Chinese authority said the first cases of COVID19 was discovered on 2nd or 3rd of January and they reported to WHO. Li Wenliang warned about it around 25-30 of December. This wasn't mentioned in this video. You are welcome.
