She's constantly sniffing and it drives me nuts.
we love this show its really addictive
This is a competent Canadian crime procedural. I like the European/Canadian style crime shows. There's a lot less shooting and car chases etc. They're just so much more civilized, eh. It's much more about the story and not the action.
There is nothing really special or noteworthy about this show. It's simply good entertainment.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
I would like the creators and writers of this show to give me the time back in my life that I wasted watching this terrible show. The unlikeable main character and annoying supporting character. Not going to include spoilers, but just will say... if you like action-packed, stimulating police procedures... skip this one!
there's just something so distinct about canadian cop shows. Anyways. There's only been two episodes, but it's already pretty bland. I'm going to keep watching because of course I am, but hopefully the later episodes manage to impress.
I know I'm being lazy by not just googling this, but does anyone happen to know, is this based on a series of books? The author's named eludes me, but I remember reading a series of books a few years ago, which followed the life of a (I think, newly appointed) coroner called Jenny Cooper, only it was set in and around Gloucestershire and Cardiff UK, not Canada...

Good first season. Nothing outstanding in all of these crime series out there, yet solid.
But Ross, the kid of our female main character, is pissing me off immensely.
He's either this ridicolously behaving child or a massive dickhead, being this amazingly caring grandson, preventing a sideplot from progressing for no reason.
In the second season the writers need to cut him out as much as possible. He's a massive nuisance.
And it's always a delight seeing Roger Cross. Even if it's like he's at least at some point in everything that comes from Canada.
Edit:
Season 2 on the other hand just starts really dumb in a way I do not fully understand what this series is or wants to be anymore.
The son gets even more annoying and dumb in the process. Dr. Cooper loses anything that made her character intriguing, there's no progress in anything. The first two episodes have barely to do with "investigating suspicious deaths" and more with ridicolous drama that makes no sense. Her job is more of a backdrop or background noise as of now. Time to drop this.
