Crossballs: The Debate Show 2004

This show is from the era when one of the executives at Comedy Central had a thing for subjecting regular people to professional improv comedians in contrived situations to make quasi-prank shows in the vein of Ali-G and the Craig Kilborne era of the Daily Show. The problem with these shows, although there may be funny parts, it is hard for the audience not to sympathize with the people who don't know it is all a joke.
From what I remember, this show was yanked when the great Phil Hendrie sued Comedy Central because this show is basically a TV version of his hilarious radio shows. In Phil's radio show, he'd introduce a character, played by himself, involved in some sort of ridiculous situation, and then people would call in and he'd interact both as the moderator and the crazy guest with the callers who get livid at how crazy the guests would get. I believe Phil even pitched a version of this show to Comedy Central so he had pretty good grounds for his lawsuit.
Comedy Central pulled this show and it was never rerun.
