Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol 2021

This was much better than I expected. If you like Dan Brown's books you should not miss this.
If you never read them but like mystery, enigmas, crime and some adventure, give this show a chance.

Better than I expected it to be. The actors seem to play the roles well and the overall production peaks interest. You've got me hooked at least for the first season. Hope the rest of the season delivers!

1 of 10. It's based on a Dan Brown book, which isn't encouraging. That said, it might score higher if Ashley Zukerman wasn't such a low grade Robert Langdon. I'm no Tom Hanks fan, but he at least gives Langdon personality, diplomacy and courage. Zukerman is empty of character. Only the supporting cast gives this a chance.

Light adventure/mystery series, pretty good but not going to set the world on fire

Let me preface this with I’m a big Dan Brown fan. I had high hopes for this, until I watched the first couple of episodes. I found most of the actors/actresses emotionless, bland and flat. No depth to their acting like everything was forced. I finished it, but time would have been better spent elsewhere.

Having trouble finding a reason to like this show beyond curiosity. The books really took leaps to try to convince you of pretty unbelievable things that people actually believe (for whatever reason) so I found my self face-palming often. In this show I also face palm but it's more because it's putting me to sleep and I just nodded off.

I'm up for the idea of turning this book into a Tv show, it's one of my favorite books, but if he's going to drag it to more than one season by putting unnecessary detours to the book (like i saw in the second episode) , people will lose interest..

Climax is the biggest letdown in the history of letdowns.

Just like the book this tv show is more ridiculous than most of Dan Brown‘s works. Bad acting, bad script, adding random things. Not a fan.

This was boring. I couldn't connect to the characters. Bad acting and a bad script. Maybe the book is better. Stay with the book.

Wanted to like the show more as the subject is very interesting.
But it is totally a network designed show with commercial cliffhangers/breaks thru out it. A lot of the plot drivers are totally absurd. Do you know how hard it is to escape a parking garage with a half dozen cops chasing you (much less fully armed cia agents)? Believe me, it is hard to do!
Too bad they went this route as it could of been a really good anthology show.

:heart:x6
Not a bad show, just not very good either. I would have liked it more if every episode they chased down a puzzle. I would have liked it better if instead of one looong arc over 10 episodes that they did several arcs over 3 or 4 episodes.

About halfway thru the series they suddenly abandoned the puzzles and kind of evolved into a psychotic terror SyFy kind of thing.
And yet, I will most likely watch season 2 if they make it.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

It's a show about how Robert Langdon is completely useless & an idiot without the help of his strong female supporting characters. There is also Bane wanna be in this show. And some dude who's tattoos appear & disappear with some sort of magic dust. Somehow CIA is running all around DC. And characters speak very strangely.

I read the book and I don't remember the book being this woke/bad. Watch it to pass time.

I hope Peacock doesn't have anymore rights to other Dan Brown books.

This show has low-budget written all over it. However, if they just managed to stick to the original book, this could have been a good show. Instead, they took the cheap route of writing woke nonsense into the script.

The first hint was in the pilot episode, when they tried to draw parallels with Libertarian symbols and Nazis. This recurring theme of comparing Center-Right/Trump/Republican supporters to terrorists continues in episode 2. I'm not sure whether this type of side narrative appeals to the majority American audience or not. As someone watching from a different country, it’s unnecessary politicising of a story.

Anyways, I stopped wasting my time with this woke show around episode 3.

This is a very enjoyable series, I look forward to each weeks episode.
I will say some things are a bit predicable, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to see more.
