Not one of the show's better episodes. Val was annoying, and I realize she was meant to be, but it got over the top to where I was tired of having the character on my screen, not just hoping to see her get her comeuppance. It was also pretty blunt and didactic in its points. Daria as a show isn't always subtle, but when Daria speaks in paragraphs of takedowns rather than just subtly undermining her foes, it's belabors the points--points I agree with mind you--a bit too much. Maybe I needed to read "Seventeen" in high school to really be able to appreciate this episode.
