Torri Higginson was never an actress I particularly found interesting or good, even in Stargate Atlantis. But in SG-A she was at most parts at least somewhat believable. In Dark Matter on the other hand it just feels like she is overacting even the simplest of scenes.
She needs to be written out permanently.
Overall a weird season opener that confused me several times due to the odd direction they went with here. While I usually like that in Dark Matter episodes a lot happens, a bit less wouldn't have hurt this double episode. Also, pelicans in space, yo.
But I did like to see some scenes of the past of Five.
I enjoyed this a bit more than the previous. There was a new character introduced that I found interesting and want to see again. the way the character was approached was refreshing for a sci find TV show.
