Rafe fights his feelings for Hope as they continue to investigate the Necktie Killer case. She bolsters him as he expresses doubt about Chad's guilt. Meanwhile, Aiden toys with the idea of forging Stefano's signature on a check, but then dismisses the idea as too risky.
As a captive Bo struggles to regain his strength, Steve shows Victor photos of Bo meeting with a Britta Englund look-alike. Victor then reveals that Bo, before heading off on his secret ISA mission, went off the grid to find a cure for Caroline's rare neurological disease. Steve sets off to find the Britta look-alike, hoping she will lead him to Bo.
Earlier, Kayla argues with Joey over a fight he had at school, wondering if all this acting out is to get his father's attention. Joey storms off and is later discovered by Steve as a stowaway on the Kiriakis jet.
Julie and Maggie become alert to Caroline's worsening mental state, as they find her talking to an imaginary Shawn. They bring her to Kayla, who assures her mother they will fight this together. In private, however, Kayla confides in Victor that it does not look good. Victor summons Dr. Salinas to Salem, telling him his cure is Caroline's only hope.
A grieving Eve packs up Paige's things with Theresa. Eve is stunned when Eduardo, Paige's father, shows up. She lays into him for abandoning Paige. Eduardo knows he is guilty as charged and takes some of Eve's abuse before they find some comfort in an awkward embrace. Later, Eduardo runs into familiar face... Rafe.

Steve is stunned when he finds Joey has snuck onto the plane. Joey accuses his father of trying to abandon him again, and Steve works overtime to explain he intends to find Bo and then return home. Joey opens up about how much it hurt to have his dad leave, and Steve ends up telling Joey all about his relationship with Kayla to prove how much he loves his family. At the same time, Kayla also has memories of her past with Steve. By the end, Joey realizes how much Steve loves him and his family, and Steve calls Kayla to tell her he's bringing Joey back - and once he finds Bo, he is done taking off on missions; he will come back for good to be with his family.
Brady, Nicole and Theresa work on their proposal to present to John in order to buy Basic Black. They are surprised by how much John neglected the finances and realize there will be much work to be done. Later, Nicole eavesdrops as Theresa talks to her silent investor - and Nicole manages to find out it's Kate! She storms over and angrily confronts Kate. Meanwhile, Brady and Theresa grow closer.
At Club TBD, Eve and Kate form an unlikely bond, and Kate supports Eve, who continues to grieve over Paige. Meanwhile, Rafe is livid to find his father, Eduardo, in town. They enter the bar, where Eduardo tries to reach out to his estranged son. Rafe isn't having any of it and blasts his father for leaving their family all those years ago. Finally, Rafe storms out, and Eve takes notice. She approaches Eduardo and learns her ex-husband not only ditched her and Paige but also the Hernandez family. She then goes to Rafe and tells him Paige was his sister.
Abigail reaches out to Chad, anxious to know how his hypnotherapy session with Marlena went. Chad informs her he didn't remember anything useful from his blackouts. She tries to encourage him, and it leads to a close moment - which Ben walks in on. He explodes with anger, reminding Abigail she promised to stay away from Chad. He tells her if she wants to be around a killer, that's her choice. He vows he's done and storms off. Abigail heads off to catch up with Ben, while Chad meets with Marlena for another session. He vaguely recalls a struggle, but can't piece together any of the details. He fears it's a memory of struggling with his victims. Chad, walking home, suddenly recalls more of the memories that have eluded him and does an about face, racing back to the hospital to tell Marlena. At that moment, a masked figure enters Marlena's office and attacks her! Will Chad get there in time?
Rafe gets a shock when Eve tells him he has another reason to want to solve Paige's murder: she was his half-sister. Rafe reels as he learns Eve's ex-husband is his father, Eduardo. While Rafe processes all this, Eduardo spots Gabi with Arianna in the park, and he strikes up a conversation with Gabi, never revealing his identity. After finishing with Eve, Rafe comes upon Eduardo and gets him alone, furious. Eduardo just wants a second chance to get to know his family, but Rafe makes it clear that's not going to happen.
Nicole has learned Kate is Theresa's "silent partner" and lays into her, vowing she will find a way to keep Kate out of Basic Black. Nicole storms off, ready to let Theresa have it for misleading her. Later, Eduardo wanders into the bar and shares a look of mutual attraction with Kate.

Chad interrupts the attack on Marlena, but when she comes to, she believes Chad is the one trying to kill her. When he hears Rafe arriving to see Marlena, Chad makes a split-second decision to run off, convinced Rafe won't believe he's innocent. At home, he grabs his passport and suitcase and flees, but not before contacting Abigail to explain why he's leaving. At the same time, he also confesses his love for her. Abigail takes him to a secret hideaway, convincing Chad to stay and figure out who the real killer is. To his disappointment, she reveals she's leaving town with Ben.
Marlena tells John and Rafe that Chad attacked her. The men go in search of Chad. Daniel, meanwhile, convinces a jittery Marlena to stay in the hospital overnight, where he wants to keep her for observation.

Jennifer runs into an out-of-breath Clyde, who insists on micromanaging Ben and Abigail's wedding. Jennifer blurts that she thinks he might not even be at the wedding, then covers by saying his micromanagement could convince Ben to freeze him out. Meanwhile, Abigail begs Ben to give her another chance, and he agrees only if she will start a new life with him outside of Salem. Abigail agrees and leaves to tell her mother. Jennifer is upset at first but then realizes Abigail's departure will keep her safe from Clyde.
Meanwhile, Clyde learns from Ben that he and Abigail plan to start a new life away from Salem. Realizing Ben wants to leave due to Chad, he convinces Ben not to run away. He's confident Chad will soon be arrested and sent to prison. Ben buys his father's argument and agrees to stay.
Steve tracks down the Britta look-alike who met with Bo and learns she provided Bo with bogus information from an unknown employer. The woman, Claudia, supplies Steve with the phone number she gave Bo. An optimistic Steve calls Kayla and says he's on the right track. At the same time, Bo almost escapes from his cell, but a guard thwarts his attempt and the "boss" orders him to be moved.
Hope asks Kayla to be her matron of honor, and Kayla accepts. Their conversation turns to Bo, and Kayla can't help but wonder if Steve is right - maybe Bo is in trouble. Hope insists Bo is just fine. He made his choice when he left, and she has made hers - Aiden.
Stefano summons Aiden and calls him on stealing a check. Aiden denies it, but Stefano says they are through. He's not getting one dime. He also fires him off of Chad's case. Furious, Aiden threatens to tell Hope about their collusion, but Stefano knows Aiden won't do it - he's fallen in love with Hope, and she really is the only option Aiden has left. Later, Aiden sees the loan shark talking to Chase and he freaks. Rattled, he goes to Hope and admits he needs to make a confession.
Earlier, Stefano is dismayed when Andre returns to town, reminding him no one in Salem knows he's alive. Andre insists he wants to help Stefano.
Adrienne receives startling news about her mother's health and goes to see Kayla. On the way, she runs into Lucas, who tells her he thinks she's making a big mistake going back to Justin.
Eve meets with Eduardo regarding Paige's funeral arrangements. She rips into him, revealing she knows about his other family. Justin comes to her aid, and Eduardo goes. As Justin pulls Eve into a hug, Lucas shows up.
Lani Price, a cop from Miami, arrives in town to join the Salem PD. She takes an immediate interest in Abe.
Rafe finds a locket Abigail dropped at the docks. Meanwhile, Abigail brings supplies to Chad at the hideout. He knows it will be hard for him to prove his innocence from here, but he will figure something out. He yearns for Abigail, knowing she's about to leave town with Ben, but he restrains himself as they say goodbye. Abigail returns home and tells Ben she's ready to leave Salem with him. Ben reveals they don't have to go. The fact that she was willing to move proves she loves him. Rafe arrives to question Abigail. Ben lurks outside to listen as Abigail lies that she hasn't seen Chad. Meanwhile, Chad goes over all the things he's remembered about the nights Serena and Paige were killed and Marlena was attacked. When he pinpoints the time of Serena's death and realizes he was fighting with the drunken man on the docks at the same time, he decides to search for the man and prove his innocence.
Aiden admits to Hope he is drowning in debt and had to turn to some shady people for help. She's shocked and angry at first, but ultimately forgives him and offers to pay the debt. Hope begs Aiden not to keep any more secrets from her. He promises he won't. Aiden meets with the loan shark to pay him off, but finds out the debt has been paid already. He gets a text from Stefano that they have business to discuss.
Jennifer admits to Roman she's worried about her son blaming himself for Paige's death. She's on the verge of telling Roman the truth about Clyde when JJ returns. JJ wants off the mission, telling Roman now that Kyle has disappeared, he can't help him. Alone, Jennifer asks why JJ didn't level with Roman. JJ's still worried about what Clyde might do to Jennifer. He finds the bug Eve planted and believes it was Clyde's doing. Jennifer argues it might have been Eve, but JJ fears he's a dead man.

With Theresa's help, Eve picks out a dress for Paige to be buried in. Her anger slowly builds over the depth of her loss and her inability to cope. She goes to the police station, angrily complaining to Justin there has been no justice for her daughter. Justin sees she's spinning out of control and does his best to comfort her. He even offers to escort her to the service. She calms for a time, but later, while collecting Paige's things to donate to charity, she loses it.
Adrienne has blood drawn to test for the genetic marker that may affect how likely she is to get breast cancer, like her mother. Kayla tries to calm her anxieties but later, Adrienne sees Justin comforting Eve. She tenses up - and Lucas sees. He gets her alone, and she confesses what she's going through. Later, when she has the same opportunity to let Justin know about her situation, she holds back. Earlier, Will and Lucas catch up. Will pushes his dad not to give up on Adrienne.
