Feels like it's going the way of Terra Nova. Cheap CGI, basic acting, nothing extraodinary either in the plot or in the way it's done.

Yep, this ils getting nowhere... And even if it was going somewhere, there're so much things that just dont work... Like those irathiens, why do they have To speak another language? Why do they have to look like sh$t? You can't have simpathy or empathy for them the way they are...
And what about all those borderline stupid characters?...
The only good thing about this show is the opening credits that are far more better than any episode!
One of the better SciFi options out there, definitely worth a watch. Imaginative, good writing, acting, and special effects (though some are obviously miniatures filmed as if life-sized). A great story arc instead of thing-of-the-week, and season 1 provides a satisfying ending that leads well into season 2.
I'm not really getting the "play the game" part of this series? When you play the game you will be able to impact the ending of the series? Or does the game have nothing to do with the serie's story? Anyway the trailer looks awesome and I hope this will be a huge success.
Oh well. Frell this, I can't force myself to watch another episode of this dren. And I refuse to use “shtako” as a swear word and/or use it at all.
I'm watching this now and I really want to like it but... I hate it when shows try to "do too much" by appealing on some many levels that it becomes blatant pandering. I'm going to give it a fair shake, and watch a couple of episodes, but so far it isn't the best...

I enjoyed it. I wasn't too keen on the ending, but at least I wasn't left with a cliffhanger.

After having watched the entire first season, I'm positively surprised how great a show it became after the pilot episode. I can certainly recommend it. But do note, that the pilot is shit and the rest of season 1 is way better.
Just watched the pilot, and I'm sitting back wondering how it can be this bad.. Felt like i went through an entire season in just one episode without going in depth with anything. Can't recommend.

Great 2h ending- I'm giving it a 10, yes, it's kinda open-ended, anti-climatic and unfruitfull for our characters, but we get all the major questions answered.
The show's not perfect, far from being a masterpiece, slow and boring at times, but I'm really gonna miss it. Season 2 was the first season that really made me think and care about the characters. I'm said it's over. That was short, way too short.
My overall rating's 8. While all plot-related questions are answered, we don't get answers to some basic questions about the characters we learned to like- the show's structure's open-ended so I really hope it gets a 3 season!
They really need to fill in more of the back story ... How long has the arc been there, where did the aliens come from ... there is no "advanced" earth tech left ?

First season started good, got weak towards the middle, but made it up for it towards the end. Would love to see if the second seasons comes on strong and stays strong. if not, itll probably get cancelled.
Despite some utterly dreadful episodes in the middle of the season, I'm really glad I stuck with it 'till the end. Some bold writing and surprisingly good character moments come in the later episodes.
Has good possibilities but a slow first season. It wouldn't surprise me if they don't make a second.

If this gets cancelled I wonder what happens to the MMO? The idea of a concurrent cross media story is very interesting, and what they hope to achieve is very ambitious, but if one fails the original concept takes quite a beating and are they left with an elephant in the room in the surviving medium.

The idea that a character on the show could go off for an episode "on a mission" and they turn up in the game and you play within some parameters of that scenario, and then they return to the show sounds pretty cool. I've seen some clips of Grant Bowler and his likeness is great. I find the "chance to change to show" a little suspect in it's breadth though.
Anyway, interesting times...
I just love this serie. It's kinda like Firefly meets Terra Nova. I'll keep watching this :D
Not as bad as one might have expected! Sure, it's campy, silly and a lot of the CGI looks cheap but well - it's fun so far! What more can you ask for? ;)
im realky exited, also im a beta tester of this game so it makes me want to watch it even more!
It looks good! But if past experiences (yes, i am talking about Terra Nova) thought me anything it is that a big budget and a lot of CGI makes it look visual stunning, but if the story and script are not of the same quality it can still look like crap.
So, until i've seen at least a few episodes ill consider as just another show. It's up to the producers, actors and writers to let me see this tv show as something more than just that.

The creators and producers say events from the game will have effects on the show and vice-versa, since the game is set in San Francisco and the show is set in Defiance (formerly St Louis).

The game and show are in 2 different locations, I'm guessing there are just scripted events that will happen in the game that are referenced in the show. However, I played the beta and the game isn't that much fun...
