In the middle of the night the female inn-keeper wakes up Turpin, as she fears Dr. Mandragola is summoning The Devil chanting very loud. Turpin finds him very drunk on the floor. Suddenly Captain Venables and his troops enter The Fox to search for Turpin.
Dick Turpin robs 50 guineas from Lord Fordingham who is not able to recognize him. They meet in an inn later wherre Turpin calls himself Jeremiah Snare, a thief-taker. He tricks Lordfordingham to believe Captain Nathan Striker is indeed Dick Turpin.

In the year 1740 in the British-American province Maryland Governor Appleyard rules as a tyrant. He makes Noll Bridger shoot Samuel Harding who barely escapes alive. Unable to travel to England he is forced to let his daughter Jane go there with there with some dangerous papers that could topple the Governor. Noll Bridger has Jane's confidence and accompanies her when she has arived in England. Dick Turpin robs Lord and Lady Melford, but later Dick Turpin makes love to Lady Melford and gives a necklace.
Jane Harding wades into Turpin and Swiftnick, and she shows both urge and ability to steal a horse. Turpin and Swiftnick follow her traces to a boxing hall in Bristol.
Noll Bridger is insulted by Turpin's remarks about his attitude to Saul, his boxing slave, at the end of episode 2, and fights a fencers' duel with Turpin. A small boy, the King's very young cousin from Germany, is the only one to escape an sttack by the cruel and spiteful highway-man Barnaby Husk. He runs into the woods and stumbles upon Isaac Rag who leads him to 'the Fox'.
Barnaby Husk seems struck by plague and is considered deadly ill but he takes Poll Maggot by surprise and escapes from 'The Fox' with the King's small cousin, Rupert, as hostage.
Toby Weston is about to hang as he has lost his farm to the lawyer, Simon Gooch, who is working for Sir Glutton who in a short notice expects a visit from his Godmother, the Duchess of Durham. In order to be her heir Sir Glutton has made her believe he is married - although he is a stubborn bachelor.

Captain Willard and his helper, Newell, recruit two young men to the King's Army by tricking them to receive a shilling each as 'assistance' in a betting game. Swiftnick liberates them, and Willard wants revenge.
A woman in need makes Dick Turpin be caught by the Captain Spiker. His execution is ordered, and later Swiftnick is put into the same cell.
