Why would they cancel this masterpiece? Okay then BBC America, I am done with you.

Very upset to hear it's cancelled. The absurdity of it all is actually really refreshing. Hopefully someone is smart enough to pick this one up.

It's such a shame this little, crazy, multidimensional gem was canceled. Honestly one of the best mindfuck shows around.

I watched it randomly on netflix cause I was bored af and
I literally finished all the episodes in one afternoon.

Just superb. Fantastic. Perfect. I can't find the right words.
Everything seems so nonsense, without logic, put there without any reasons, and then. In the end. EVERYTHING, AND WITH EVERYTHING I MEAN E V E R Y T H I N G, even the smallest hole in the wall or the dog on the street has his reason. You have to watch it to understand. Definitely.

And then, the last 5 minutes throws each of your certainties into the toilet.
Can't wait to see next season.

Sadly, it has almost nothing to do with Adam's novels. They kept just the name of the main character, the clueless sidekick, the cat and the dog. The narrative lacks the british wit and crazy charm of the orginal series, the philosophical implications of chaos, or the novel's extreme confluence. Seattle (or should I say, Vancouver) is a lousy replacement for London, as in the novels the city becomes another character. It's enjoyable, but the original series did more in its 3 episode run than this in 8.

One of the most genuinely fun television shows I have seen in a while, Dirk Gently is a show driven by its whacky character's and surreal events. Admittedly it fumbles the ball slightly in it's second season, but it still manages to limp over for a touchdown. Worth your time, even though the show's cancellation robbed it of the satisfying ending that it deserves.

Season 1 was awesome. Season 2 was a disappointment. Glad it's cancelled tbh :(

If Wilfred and Orphan Black had a baby they would name it Dirk Gently. Fantastic first season. Its so wonderful to see Elijah Woods back in a show custom made for his unique talent.

This is not your slightly older Uncle's Dirk Gently. And unfortunately yes, that's a bad thing.

Craazy show. Just as crazy as the novels, I had read these books when I was a teenage and loved them I was not expecting much of the tv show as these sort of books rarely translate well to TV but although I have only seen the first episode it really did justice to the spirit of the novels in its own way. While it diverges from the books in plot I think that is a good thing. Looking forward to the next episode. Be prepared for a trip if you watch this.

This first season has been very amusing so far, not top notch but still very enjoyable. Starting with absurd and crazy situations and characters it further develops until it all comes together.

This show starts off weird as hell, but then it starts making sense and it's really interesting and definitely made a great mystery. I'm hopeful and looking forward to season 2! I was wondering how Elijah was going to factor into this show, but he does a great job on the show and played the character really well.

As someone who's read many of Douglas Adams' books, I can't really recommend this. I thought the first episode was quite good, and had a lot of funny moments that reminded me of Adams' own writing, but as the first season goes on there are fewer and fewer funny moments, and more and more boilerplate TV moments. The plot is extremely convoluted, and not in a good way.

Weird, wonderful with some amazing characters. Bart is my favourite. :thumbsup_tone1: Well worth a watch :thumbsup_tone1:.

One of the best quirky duo. The main character is so wacky that you can't stop loving him. Show is even more crazy. This show is hilarious as well as complex. Things make more sense as the show progresses. It makes zero sense in the beginning. It is a good show.

Super awesome show. Both fun and mysterious. Love the concept of the holistics. Binged the whole thing in two days but of course it was cancelled </3. So sad. Please bring it back.

For someone that has OCD and ADHD, its really really hard to find shows I can just sit back and watch without anything distracting me from it. This show is by far one of my favorites I have ever seen. I ended up binge watching it in two days! Only wished I got to watch it while it was airing before it got cancelled. If your like me and have to know everything you may hate the finale of season two but I honestly still recommend it despite the cliffhangers. For me the ride they took me on from episode one to the final episode outweighs not knowing what will happen. I do hope it gets picked up in the future though.

This show came highly recommended, but to be honest I was not able to continue watching it after the second episode. It's way too shrill both in soundtrack and in some of the acting. It didn't really help that nothing at all makes sense in the plot.

I gave this crap 33 minutes before I couldn't take it any more - I usually try to give a new show 2-3 episodes before pulling the plug. This show is terrible - there's no story and definitely no humour in this 'comedy' that is probably written by 10 year olds. 0/10

Strangly addictive to watch. BBC again makes another interesting show. However looks like it was cancelled from what I see from other viewers comments on trakt.tv.

I love this show! It's so absurd and interesting and well written. This got cancelled on BBC America but I hope it gets picked up by netflix! It's so much fun and I'd be devastated if it ended here.

I really enjoyed this show! I'm excited for Season 2, when we will get that, who knows. But I look forward to it. :D

I read the books as a kid. Do these follow the story of the books or is it completely different?
