This episode is WILD.
Diving into Debra’s past explained a lot of what seems like totally bonkers behavior from her in the present. Putting those things next to what she’s dealing with you realize the example set for her is horrible, she’s following the lead of her mother—who should not be leading anyone anywhere ever my god.
I can't believe she's going home with him after that. He's not even a decent liar. You could see him using lines that worked before. "We have the same name, but I'd need money for a lawyer to prove those other John's aren't me."
Surely she has that sour hunch/feeling gnawing at the pit of her stomach. I think that every time I've been conned or almost been conned, I got that feeling. It's just a matter of listening.
