I was a little disappointed in the finale. They barely showed the actual murder and gave no follow up about Betty or her kids.

Amanda Peet did an amazing job in this role, even though she doesn’t look like the real Betty. This show does a really good job of making you feel bad for a murder. Peet was more sympathetic than even Betty Broderick herself. I don't know why they left out Betty's younger boyfriend from the story, that would have been interesting to see.

This ending showing all the alternatives was brilliant! I think that if Dan had just been completely honest about everything, and had given Betty respect for what she had done for him, the fallout wouldn't have been so damaging for everyone.

Great season, but that was the finale? It felt a bit like there wasnt really much explanation at the end..
It felt like a lead up to the finale.. oh what a shame. Felt quite confusing not really knowing what happened as it shows alternatives.. but didnt really say whats happened to her since etc.

This was infinitely better than season one, and Christian Slater was impressive.

The way she talked to her kid was what bothered me the most, too, so I'm not surprised it's what changed the jury's mind.

She cackled as she made those horrible crank phone calls. Her lawyer seemed to understand, though. I guess I agree with the friend that a mental institution would have been the better fit.

Great season that gives a fairly nuanced look at what happened. Regardless of the fact what Betty did most of the time was wrong the series allows you to subtely view things from her side and what made her do the things she did.

The small monologue by Slater about perception was perfect.

Overal a great improvement over the first season and a definate recommend.

I find myself finishing the series with only sympathy for Dan. No, he wasn’t perfect, and he was an asshole. But his biggest crime was falling in love with another woman and being an asshole. He didn’t deserve to be murdered or harassed. No sympathy for her in the end.
But I liked this series more than the first.

Amazing episode and definitely the best one in the whole season. I really felt so sorry for Betty and what she had to go through. Sure one should never turn to violence and I guess she would have needed psychological help but when you see all the humiliation, the desperation and the powerlessness she had to endure, I can understand that this could make someone crazy. Also the scenes at the end were so heartbreaking, when we see some pivotal moments from the season and how Betty could have reacted differently and what a difference it could have made for her life.
Overall a really good season of Dirty John and Amanda Peet was just brilliant in the role.
