2x01 Episode 1

This is some nauseating, destabilising, gaslighting madness, but Gemma really should stop letting Simon bait her and just call the police, get a restraining order, and fight for her life (and her son) in court. She's a fighter for sure but she's making some unfortunate mistakes with that otherwise useful fighting spirit, because the ex is a soul sucking, calculating, narcissistic energy vampire who isn't worth all the attention he craves. He means to isolate her and then squeeze her out, and historically women rarely win fighting dirty (like men), it's not deemed culturally acceptable, hence all the people shitting on Gemma for being a "bitch"... but, well, good luck to her anyway, hopefully this will end with her being the clever wolf, not just the feral one.

I was on the fence about whether I even wanted to watch this second season. Gemma turned out to be such an atrocious character that even when she wins, it feels disgustingly wrong. But the show itself isn't too bad, so...

WTF kind of invitation is that? "We're back and we're married!" That's bait if I've ever seen it.
Why was the door open for critters and weather and robbers (and exes) to get in?

Why is Simon speaking like that? He was always rather casual and somewhat quiet in the first season. Now he's more talkative and posh, looking like the traditional British villain in a movie.

Gemma desperately needs to get help. She is emotionally unstable, and her mental state relies on everything in her life being perfect. She tried to kill herself after finding out about the affair, only thinking of Tom afterwards. Her emotions are all over the place, ready to jump from one to the next at a moment's notice. She needs professional help. As much of a prick Simon is being by taking Tom, I can't help but think the kid is better off...
