Damn, those weeping angels episodes are just the very best.
I accidentally read spoilers, so I knew this was going to happen, but I still wasn't ready for it.. It hurts my soul...
10/10
All Gold
IMPOSSIBLE
Not to have tears
at the end and most
of mine are for The Doctor.
A solid episode and I
absolutely loved all the
Timey Wimey stuff,
made for a very exciting
episode.
As always
The Doctor and River
Knocked it out of the
Ball Park.
I loved how everything
will be new now, I'm
so looking forward to
that.
"Oh Bless River
I love her 3000",
Solid episode with great
pacing and good tension
and the finale was
Sensational,
I could hardly Blink
I was afraid I would
miss something
"This Christmas"
(which just happens
to be in 3 days time
at the time i write this)
THE DOCTOR WILL RETURN
Amy is dead..
DON'T TOUCH ME!
7/10
True love prevails
Kind of silly premise but it all works out
Got tears from the ending.
I like the idea of the angels farming time like this, but i'm not exactly a fan of how they were used in the episode, and the structure of the episode really. Along with some iffy time shenanigans with paradoxes and time stuff going on in New York.
Last time i watched, i didn't like the sendoff for Amy and Rory, and i came into the episode with that. But i've softened on it. They had a decent sendoff, and at least they lived good lives. But i'm still not a fan of sending them off in this way. Last season was good with them leaving and finally living their lives. This season changed that and brought them back. But i still kinda liked it. We saw their struggle in deciding whether to stay on earth and live a life or go adventuring the doctor. We saw them leaning more toward the former, and then suddenly they decide to do the latter.
And then they get stuck in early 1900s earth, away from their friends, family and modern technology, and never seeing the doctor or their daughter again. Great...
It's another tragic fate for the doctor's companions. But it feels unncessary and forced, even though in-universe it was an inevitable conclusion because of the risk from traveling with the doctor.
It's unnecesary and forced because last season they had a send off, and this season they were acclimating more to being on earth and having lives. But then nope, they now just want to adventure with the doctor and save planets and so many lives and... Next episode they get trapped in the early 1900s forever. The end. I guess Rory's father never realized when he said "go off and be with the doctor saving planets" that that would be the last time he'd ever see or speak to him again, for the rest of his life.
Cruel creative decisions. But it's not uncommon for the lead creatives of this show to do that to the companions.
Just saw an amazing comment. Imagine if instead of Mels, we had Amy and Rory finding child River in the past and raising her. Now that would have went really well with this episode.
I do like Amy and Rory, and i'm sad to see them go. Rose is still my favorite companion though.
Why do I suddenly have 68 plays of this old episode I've maked as seen around 8 years ago.
the weeping angel episodes are always the best, but I'm heartbroken about Amy and Rory!
the friendship was one of my favourites.
rory and amy were really endgame, it was a quiet love, unlike most tv shows where it has to be over the top but there love was truly epic
Probably shed more tears on this episode than any other before it.
Wow, never saw that coming. The episode was made well and I'm still recovering!
