An abandoned power station on the banks of the Hudson River known for its rusted walls, crumbling structure and history of violence was nicknamed, “The Gates of Hell.” On July 11th, it became the proving ground for the first event of its kind. Top pilots came from all over the world to fly through the complex structure, slicing through neon gates, rounding hairpin turns, and racing for the finish. With no margin for error the course saw its share of casualties.

The second race, Skatepark LA, brings the pilots to Woodward West, one of the largest private skating and gymnastics facilities in the United States. Three more rookies make their DRL debut on a course that blends the park’s skating ramps with complex DRL neon obstacles, including the signature Watch Gate.

Dunkan and DRL SIM Tryout Winner Robogenesis advance to the Golden Heat for a head-to-heat showdown to determine the Level 2 winner.
Biosphere2 is the home of Level 3, the first DRL race to take place both inside and outside. Pilots fly vertically over Biosphere’s highest tower before turning inside and passing through several scientifically sustained ecosystems, including an ocean, desert and rainforest.

The top ten pilots travel to Saudi Arabia to compete in the 2018 DRL Allianz World Championship. They battle it out in a five-man semifinal on the most vertical course of the season, over and past three high-rises.
