Henshall finds out from his colleague that a council security camera covers the entrance to the shop where he bought the phone that was used for the prank calls. Hiding his panic, Henshall asks Katie to go away with him on a short break and she agrees, thinking it'll do her good to get away from the village.

Katie tries to hide her alarm as she puts the cuttings away, but when she tries to broach the subject again, she's unnerved when Henshall stops her going back in the drawer. Katie is thrown by Henshall's venom as he desperately tries to hide the cuttings away.

As the police presence grows outside Henshall's home, Katie is shaken by her realisation that she is now a hostage. Outside, Andy and Gennie feel powerless as they wait behind a police cordon. Katie's fear is growing as Henshall acts more and more irrationally, and his anger is piqued when he sees Andy outside. He then goes to a cabinet and calmly takes out a gun.

As Prior struggles to negotiate Katie's release, Henshall makes it clear that he has no intention of letting her go. Ready to storm the house, the police back off when they realise Henshall has a gun. Terrified for Katie, Andy steps forward and makes an impassioned plea for her life. Concurrently Katie plays a dangerous game, coolly insisting that Henshall can't love her if he's putting her through this. From outside, Andy and Gennie hear a shot ring out. Meanwhile, tensions between Nicola and Jimmy bubble to the surface. As the pair argue, Jimmy stops to grab some petty cash before angrily heading off on a late run. Elsewhere, Lisa is sickened to watch Lizzie get closer to Derek.

Nicola wakes to find a note from Jimmy saying that he left on an early work run, but we soon see that he's been meeting with Kelly in Peterborough. Kelly has been asking for money and wants to get back together with him.

With Jimmy still AWOL, Nicola decides to call the police and report him missing. At the same time, Carl answers the office phone and when a female caller asks for Jimmy, he questions who it is - but the line goes dead. Carl doesn't tell Nicola, but this only confirms to him that Jimmy is having an affair. And when Nicola accuses him of hiding things from her he can't help but let her know his suspicions. Meanwhile, at the factory, Lisa is finding it ever harder to hide her fears for Lizzie as she gets closer to Derek. Later, Nikhil mentions that he has some overtime available later that week and Lisa is appalled to witness Derek and Lizzie both sign up for it.

Jimmy's disappearance is really starting to scare Nicola, but she refuses to believe that he could be having an affair. However, when Declan suggests that she should check her bank account, Nicola is upset to find that Jimmy withdrew £500 when he got to Peterborough.

Worried for her friend, Lisa tells Derek to stay away from Lizzie. Calm, Derek replies that she's overstepped the mark - they had a fling but she doesn't get to tell him who to talk to. Later that day, Lizzie gets sick of Lisa's moods and accuses her of petty jealousy when she makes a cutting remark.

Lisa asks Lizzie for a word and, assuming she is going to apologise, Lizzie obliges. Lisa summons her strength and explains that Lizzie needs to stay away from Derek. Lizzie is sure that Lisa is jealous and doesn't understand why she's being like this. When Derek steps in to defend Lizzie, Lisa snaps and blurts out what he did to her. Meanwhile, Nicola and Carl talk to the Peterborough police.

As everyone takes in what Lisa has said, Derek insists that she is just a woman scorned and that they were having an affair. However, Chas assures everyone that this isn't something Lisa would lie about. Unsure what to do with Derek, Jai and Nikhil take him into their office and send everybody else home.

Lisa sees Zak is struggling with his anger and asks him to promise not to take the law into his own hands. Convincing him that the police need to deal with it once she has spoken to Belle and Sam, they head back home. Later that morning, the factory girls are incredulous to see Derek walk in and Jai and Nikhil tell him to leave.

In the pub, Cain steals Nikhil's keys and later that night lets himself into Holdgate Farm. After taking a shower, Charity is shocked to find Cain in her bedroom. She demands to know what he is doing and there is sexual tension between the pair until Jai bursts in. As Charity explains her former partner's unexpected visit, Cain is amused to see a flicker of doubt cross Jai's face and observes that he doesn't seem to trust Charity.

It's the day of Noah's party and there's tension as Jai and Charity witness Cain arrive with a big present. Later, in the pub, Charity tells Cain that she is over him and if he wants her to prove it, she will. She then heads back over to Jai and kisses him.

While on a date with Flynn, Aaron opens up and admits to him that he can't stop thinking about Jackson and is struggling to make sense of his feelings. Flynn tells Aaron that he is disappointed but pleased he has finally been honest with him. Later, Aaron arrives at Jackson's and asks him to be honest with him. Although Jackson begs him not to do this, Aaron says that he can't just turn his feelings off and he never stops thinking about him.

Despite the diagnosis, Nicola is privately confident that she can trigger his memory.

Faye winds Cain up further when she moans about having to see Jai and Charity all over each other constantly. Later, Cain confronts Charity outside Holdgate and tells her this is the worst decision of her life - she'll never be happy because he won't let her be. As he leaves, Charity's defiance slips as she realises Cain means every word.

Charity is in bed with Jai when she receives a text from Cain and realises he is outside. Looking out of the window, she reveals she's wearing something skimpy and gets back into bed. Later, Cain warns her that as long as she's with Jai, he'll be everywhere she looks and questions whether it's worth it.

Jai confronts Charity about her past and she explains that, while she's not proud of her history, Cain's behaviour is just a desperate attempt to split them up and Jai's falling for it. Later, she confronts Cain and tells him that her and Jai have no more secrets, so there's nothing more he can do.

Jimmy goes out for a meal with Nicola, but as she tells him about her court case for biting a child, Jimmy feels increasingly uncomfortable in her company and can't return her affectionate gestures. Later, Jimmy comes clean to Carl - saying that he's seen the evidence and knows he must have loved Nicola once, but he can't for the life of him understand why.

Nicola joins Jimmy in the pub, where he's been meeting more of the villagers and becoming increasingly aware of the amount of history he's missing. He's just starting to enjoy himself when Nicola drags him away, telling him she's made him lunch.

Gennie takes a message from a demanding customer wanting a meeting with Jai. Nikhil, furious to have received a letter from Faye's solicitors regarding her unfair dismissal, tells Gennie to pass on the message and to tell his brother he wants a word.

At the hotel, Cain grabs Charity - telling her that she's made her point with Jai but it's time to come home. At the same time, Jai has returned from his meeting, furious to have been stood up. He's baffled when Chas asks him why he's in the office when Charity's waiting for him in a hotel room - she realises what's happened and they race to the hotel.

Aaron tells Paddy that he just wants to have a relationship with his boyfriend and heads over to Dale Head to tell Jackson he'll pick him up later. As they arrive at Smithy Cottage, Jackson sees Aaron's bed laid out in the front room and claims that it's awkward and he wants to go home.

The police arrive at Wishing Well and inform Lisa that there's not enough evidence to go to court, so the investigation into Derek is closed. Lisa is devastated, while Zak is furious that there's no chance of getting justice for his wife. As Lisa heads to work, Zak broods and furiously storms towards the van. Sam alerts Lisa to Zak's behaviour and she races to Derek's house, where an irate Zak is banging on the door screaming threats

As Derek and Zak's showdown continues, Lisa rushes up to the house and interrupts just as Zak's about to beat up Derek. As Lisa begs him to stop, Zak holds back. However, when Derek thanks Lisa for saving him, she sees red.

Jimmy takes some paperwork up to the Sharmas' factory when Kelly approaches him, saying she's sorry. Jimmy's baffled and she's alarmed as she realises that he doesn't know who she is. She asks if he remembers anything about the last time they met - he assures her that he doesn't, revealing he's lost his memory.

Aaron is annoyed to learn that Chas has been interfering and is put out when he gets an unenthusiastic welcome from Hazel and Jackson. Aaron tells Jackson that he's talking to his camera too often and should be confiding in him instead.

In The Woolpack, Aaron tells Hazel that he's seen the diary. She snaps at him for prying but he urges her to listen. Hazel refuses to discuss this, but Aaron begs her to at least watch the diaries herself and she reluctantly agrees. Later, Aaron and Jackson return home just as Hazel is replacing the laptop. Hazel pretends to be upbeat but a look passes between her and Aaron and it's clear their secret is going to be a heavy one to bear.

Jimmy has agreed to meet Kelly the following day against Carl's advice, sure that she holds the key to his lost memory. When Nicola asks him to take Angelica to nursery at the same time as his scheduled meeting, he quickly claims that he has to go out on a job and Carl covers him.

Carl passes on a message to Jimmy from Kelly about a new meeting place. Later that day, Kelly waits at a café for a late Jimmy to show, getting anxious and watching the clock. As the door to the café opens, Kelly's put out to see Carl take up a seat opposite her - wanting her to stay out of Jimmy's life. However, she hints that she was already seeing Jimmy before the amnesia.

Carl reminds Jimmy about Kelly's true colours and is pleased that Jimmy has decided to see the specialist again and move back in with Nicola. Later, Kelly rings Jimmy and tells him that Carl turned up and threatened her. Carl is shocked and insists to Jimmy that she was far from threatened and he was just trying to help.

Debbie agrees to spend the evening with Cameron. She then asks Cain to make himself scarce, so he invites Ryan on a night out. Ryan is suspicious when Cain takes him to a posh bar and is annoyed when he discovers that Cain has stolen the keys to a posh car from the bar, keen to make some cash.

Faye tells Ryan that she's leaving the village today and tries to tempt him to come abroad with her. However, Ryan admits that he's settled and his life remains in the village, so Faye accepts that she's going to have to cut the apron strings.

Cameron pulls up the truck near the garage for a word with Cain, but Cain walks off when Cameron asks him if he can buy him a pint sometime. Driving off, Cameron accidentally knocks Cain's wing mirror off. Later, Debbie is at Tug Ghyll when Cain returns, irate that Cameron has damaged his car.

Bob is floored when Kelly turns up claiming that Viv's death has brought her back to the village and seeking refuge for a few nights. Aware that Bob wants to talk, Kelly leaves but insists she'll be back tomorrow. However, she warns that there'll be an extra person in tow. At the same time, Jimmy tells Scarlett about Kelly's claims that they were seeing each other before his accident.

While out on a walk with Nicola, Jimmy's thrown to see Kelly leaving the village shop with a child. Aghast, Nicola questions her motives for coming back while Jimmy watches on in horror, pretending not to recognise her. Landing back on Bob's doorstep, Kelly introduces him to her son, Elliot.

Rodney meets Kelly for a drink and asks who Elliot's father is. Kelly's unease becomes apparent and Rodney starts to piece things together. Under pressure, Kelly is forced to admit that Elliot is Jimmy's son. When Nicola arrives at the pub, she's incensed to see Rodney so close to Kelly. Insisting they were just catching up, Rodney asks Nicola for a word in quiet but sensing an atmosphere,

However, when Adam later returns home, he's put out to hear John wants rent money.

Alicia guiltily makes a call to meet her 'buyer' for the final time. Opening her boot, there's a stash of fags and booze. At the same time, Leyla's still concerned about the missing items and quizzes David, who promises to do a stock check later and claims there has to be an explanation.

Val asks Leyla whether she may have jumped the gun by accusing Amy, but can't hide her doubt either when she later questions Amy. Feeling sorry for Amy, David pays her a visit with the assurance that he believes she's innocent.

As Kelly arranges another outing with Jimmy, Carl warns him that he's playing with fire. Later, Carl calls Nicola and warns that she needs to up her game fast if she wants a chance of keeping him out of Kelly's clutches.

Feeling torn, Jimmy pulls away from kissing Kelly. He says that he knows he wouldn't have married someone he didn't love and can't turn his back on Nicola and Angelica.

Jackson and Aaron head to the comedy gig, but Aaron is forced to call an ambulance when Jackson starts to choke. Hazel arrives at the hospital with Jerry and is concerned to hear that Jackson has a chest infection. Knowing this is the last thing her son needs, Hazel sobs into Aaron's arms.

When Aaron arrives at the hospital, it's clear that Hazel is nervous. Aaron tries his best to comfort her, but he shares her fears. The doctor informs Jackson that the infection is part of his condition as he's unable to clear his lungs properly, and Hazel and Aaron are upset by Jackson's defeatist reaction to the news.

Jimmy pops in to see Elliot and when Kelly moves in for a kiss, he's tense and she quickly senses Nicola has swayed him. When he explains that she's apologised and accepted she was out of order, Kelly starts to well up. As Jimmy hugs her, she's aware that she's losing the upper hand.
