Huzzah for my first cover since my album's release and my recording equipment's timely repair!

I did the harp part for this cover ages ago, and it's been just sitting in a dusty corner of my hard drive waiting for some love. I went for a very nautical sound in the arrangement and think I somewhat succeeded in making the piece my own. I apologize for my pronunciation - I do not speak any Japanese - but please bear with me, I just love the song.

Chrono Cross is one of my favorite games...the story, the sunlit oceanic setting, the characters, and of course Yasunori Mitsuda's genius soundtrack. A masterpiece like Chrono Cross truly does transcend time.

I sang and arranged this pretty little song from the 2007 film Beowulf. All vocals, harp, and drum parts were performed by me. So happy to finally have this cover up for you guys! I've been planning it for ages!

For the video, my dear friend FantasiesGhost created a lovely video with scenes from "The Dark Crystal" in which we both felt the character of Kira fit the theme of the song so incredibly well

Here is my cover of World of Warcraft's 'Temple of the Moon' which I think is one of the most soothing and soporific tracks in the game. My cover is decidedly less soporific, but I couldn't resist allowing it get epic xD There was a ton more I could have done with this piece, but alas time is ticking and there are album tracks to do!

ABOUT THE VIDEO~

This is my first machinima-style video! It was both really really hard and also awesome that I could manipulate absolutely everything about a scene and the characters. Much more fun than editing with pre-made clips! Every scene took tons of planning , and my previous editing skill came in really handy. I now have nothing but respect for editors that make machinimas on a regular basis!!! :O

Many of you may have heard this melody while watching cartoons, and some of you may even know the words. A version of it was featured in Studio Ghibli's "Grave of the Fireflies" at a specific sad point. There are not a multitude of new recordings of this song, which is a shame.

It proved a very difficult song in the end, and I had a lot of trouble singing it...so the performance is not what I'd like it to be. The arrangement is also very plain, which may be a positive or a negative, depending ^^;;

HAPPY EARLY HALLOWEEN!

This is my arrangement of Portal's ending song "Still Alive". I am a huge Portal fan, and I've been eagerly waiting for the chance to record this properly. I have never gotten to play with the sound effects on Vegas before because of the type of music I usually record, so this time I went crazy with a flanger effect which made me sound really robotic. x3 (A one-time occasion, I assure you) As per tradition, I used my electric piano for the meat of this seasonal upload, plus my violin for pizzicato.

All the pen and ink art is by me :) Color added on photoshop. I will probably upload the big GLaDOS pic at the end to my deviantart account, as I'm pretty happy with it in particular. I really enjoyed trying some primitive animation! Thanks go to my old video editing computer for pulling an all-nighter for me and rendering out the initial 10GB file. xD GLaDOS would be proud.

Song of the Goddess - 'The Eternal Path' ~ composed, arranged, and performed by Erutan (katethegreat19)

A few months ago, Shanda Games commissioned me to compose a song for the awesome online game, Dragon Nest SEA, in particular for their Goddess character, Althea. This is the end result!

It can currently be heard in the Calderock VIllage area of the game!! :)

THE LYRICS - are in a language created especially for the song, in order to give the song a fantasy feel. There is no translation on purpose. We wanted to convey the meaning of the song through the music alone.

I was only 13 years old when I recorded this violin solo in 1997! The piano part was played by my mother, Melinda Covington (coffeeforcreature) and the sound engineer recording me was Leonard Gibbs. It was recorded at Creative Spark in Mount Pleasant, SC on their old base-boomy piano xD

In 1997 we were trying to record a little classical CD of my violin playing, but it fell through due to lack of funds. (no home equipment at that time! ) So I located and dusted off the masters and decided upload this and perhaps a few others that we had recorded that day.

I play so much better now, but these recordings are a good showing of what I spent my early life doing and they're really sweet in all their cute chaotic-ness xD

Nomitori no Uta (also known as 'Drinking Song') is a beautiful but totally unappreciated little song composed by Yoko Kanno for the Escaflowne movie. I have always wanted to do a cover of it! I composed a little chorus section to give it a bit more melodic structure, and created the best arrangement I could to showcase its primal beauty.

It is sung by a group of children in the original track and it is SO cute! :3
