I wrote these lyrics and arranged "The Place I'll Return to Someday" (Terra Theme by Nobuo Uematsu) for vocals, keyboards, guitar and drums. It took me two weeks, but I think it came out well. HA HA HA Finally! I finished my own version of this beautiful song from Final Fantasy IX!!! I hope you all like it okay! It took a whole month longer than I would have liked, but the end result, well, just listen! ^0^ I used a lot of vocal layering and performed the violin, drum, and guitar parts as well! I wrote the lyrics to this beautiful theme from FF9 and worked very hard arranging this song for voice, harp, guitar, various drums, and recorder! I sang the melody for this completely a cappella on a whim, and it sounded good, so I arranged and added instruments on top to create this fan vocal. Because of the strongly Okinawan influence of FFX's world, I tried to make my recorder sound like a shakuhachi flute, and my drums sound more traditional. Sorry for uploading another mini-cover like this! O.O I just feel bad leaving the site without fresh stuff while I am working on the CD ^w^ sigh...and yt would not give me high quality even with the best settings no matter how many times I uploaded this T-T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay...I know this isn't the sort of genre I usually work in, but because of that it was even more fun!!!! While experimenting with some new sound ideas with panning and reverb for one of my album songs, I decided to quickly put finishing touches on a small piano cover I had made of this gorgeous but highly creepy theme from the music box puzzle in Silent Hill 2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had my violin and frame drum handy in the studio, and the whole thing took me only an hour to fully record. We're singing exactly what the violins play in the original arrrangement, and five of our members can hit high D's so we were able to pull this off accurately and solidly. Huzzah for my first cover since my album's release and my recording equipment's timely repair! I did the harp part for this cover ages ago, and it's been just sitting in a dusty corner of my hard drive waiting for some love. I went for a very nautical sound in the arrangement and think I somewhat succeeded in making the piece my own. HAPPY EARLY HALLOWEEN! This is my arrangement of Portal's ending song "Still Alive". I am a huge Portal fan, and I've been eagerly waiting for the chance to record this properly. I have never gotten to play with the sound effects on Vegas before because of the type of music I usually record, so this time I went crazy with a flanger effect which made me sound really robotic. x3 (A one-time occasion, I assure you) As per tradition, I used my electric piano for the meat of this seasonal upload, plus my violin for pizzicato. I was only 13 years old when I recorded this violin solo in 1997! The piano part was played by my mother, Melinda Covington (coffeeforcreature) and the sound engineer recording me was Leonard Gibbs. It was recorded at Creative Spark in Mount Pleasant, SC on their old base-boomy piano xD In 1997 we were trying to record a little classical CD of my violin playing, but it fell through due to lack of funds. (no home equipment at that time! ) So I located and dusted off the masters and decided upload this and perhaps a few others that we had recorded that day. I play so much better now, but these recordings are a good showing of what I spent my early life doing and they're really sweet in all their cute chaotic-ness xD I hope you enjoy this little blast from the past!!! Nomitori no Uta (also known as 'Drinking Song') is a beautiful but totally unappreciated little song composed by Yoko Kanno for the Escaflowne movie. I have always wanted to do a cover of it! There are a lot of covers of this pretty little song from Skyrim, some of them very popular, and I was stumped with how to bring 'something new' to this track. I decided not to go the slow ballad way - instead I pumped up the tavern jollyness. I did this in a Celtic session-style, complete with instrumental solos and rougher playing. Just a single vocal line. Really happy with the results...it's definitely tavern music XD I also wrote two new verses for this song. It was way too short to span into a workable song (at least for me) so I wrote and added verses 3 and 4. Hopefully they fit and aren't jarring with the rest of the lyric. For the video, I booted up Fraps and had some fun filming in my game, making use of a lot of console commands....you can even see my game going buggy because of it in a few scenes, lol. I ended up with over 300 GBs of footage and it took me two days to go through it to edit into video form. haaaa.... I hope you enjoy it! Day of Destiny - music, lyrics, and performance by Erutan Hi everyone! Thanks again for the beautiful birthday wishes *o* ABOUT THE SONG ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is my second commissioned composition for a video game, and I am very happy that I was able to write another song for the Dragon Nest world of Lagendia! Cherry Credits approached me earlier this year to write a song for the city of Saint Haven, and they asked that I make it from the point of view of the Elves - specifically Grand Archer Ithilien - and tell the story of the Black Dragon Raid 50 years prior to the current storyline. Here is the result! I finished it very early this year, and it's been waiting in the wings to release. Due to the amount of work I had at the time, coupled with close due dates, this is one of the projects that contributed to my voice issues this Summer! This is the last thing I recorded before having to rest my voice these last few months. I visited the Cherry Credits forum and read that many players feel this song does not suit Saint Haven very well ^w^; I think a more grand symphonic work was expected by many. I wanted to apologize to any players that were disappointed by the new BGM ^w^; A million thanks though to the players that have reached out specifically to tell me how much they love the new Saint Haven song! :) NOTES ON THE VIDEO ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This video isn't quite as 'animated' as my last one - I wanted to create a more storybook feel. My vocal rendition of Metroid Prime's credits theme :) This was a challenge! I had a blast writing the lyrics. I wrote them from a Chozo oracle's point of view and tried to work in as much lore as I could. It was a request from one of my kickstarter backers, August! My voice is still extremely temperamental and has recently taken a turn for the worst - I have an appointment to have my vocal cords looked at this week. I managed to finish this cover, but I don't entirely like how I sound in places. Hopefully it's just some recurrent laryngitis. The video was shot solely by my husband (with help from me). We're both beginners at this! But, we learn so much with each video we shoot. This time we did a shoot at night which was very difficult! :O We also borrowed a lot for this video! (lights!) (parent's lawn!) (cape!) The Chozo costume was really fun to put together as well. *Hi guys, I apologize for this cover....from some of the comments I've been receiving, I understand that I've kinda failed here. I tried my best but there's only so much you can do with a weak voice and little folk instruments, lol. Still, a huge thanks to my regulars for sparing my feelings and writing a load of lovely comments for me ^w^ Love you! 'Answers' is from Final Fantasy XIV a Realm Reborn. It was a kickstarter request (aka mandatory cover) from my friend David. Just a warning: I have taken HUGE liberties with this song, both with the chords and the melody. The answer/chorus sections for example have a totally different melody than in the original - I will understand if fans of the song are upset by these changes, but trying it the original way would have only showcased how weak my voice and instruments are in comparison to the original. Just trying to make the best possible sound with the tools at hand.

This is a track from my Celtic/Medieval album, The Court of Leaves. I thought I would film a little video for it :) The instruments are a vielle (medieval fiddle with gut strings), a gothic harp, and a lute. The piece is originally for two vocalists, but works as a delicate instrumental just as well :) It was written by Guillaume de Machaut, a 14th century poet and composer. I love this melody! We filmed the video in 30ºF weather, at a ruin about two hours from Charleston. We thought it would be nice and deserted like always, but suddenly the ruin was VERY popular, and a whole biker gang decided to visit at one point! Luckily, we had one 30 minute period where no one was walking into my shot or trying to mess with me. ^_^;

Recorded 2 years ago :) For those who haven't played FFIX: This song is about Freya Crescent, a Burmecian knight in search of her lost love, Sir Fratley, who went missing two years prior to the game's beginning. When she finally finds him, she discovers he has amnesia and has forgotten all about her and their time together. (Hence Freya's catch phrase 'To be forgotten is worse than death' ) Though I feel the game didn't dwell very much on this side story, it still sticks out to me as one of the sadder moments in gaming. I will go ahead and hazard that this cover is only 'loosely based' on Unforgettable Silhouette/Freya's Theme. In truth it is more of an original song with elements of her theme, rather than the other way around.
