Escape at Dannemora 2018

Best show of 2018,acting is superb and with every episode I don't want it to end... Ten out of ten...

i really enjoy slow burn shows, so the pacing didnt bother me in any way. i was enthralled throughout.

If you like slow burn stories with great characters and amazing acting performances from every actor involved, you can't get any better than this

Overlong, but the acting is immense

Escape at Dannemora is a four or five-hour story stretched out unnecessarily over eight hours. Ostensibly a prison break genre piece, the series is more interested in the psychology of the people involved and the poor choices they made (and why they made them) than in going in either of the two usual routes for such stories; triumphant escape or social commentary. Excellently directed and beautifully shot, with a quartet of astounding performances at its centre, the show tells a fascinating story, but it moves at a glacial pace that requires serious patience, without ever really offering much in the way of rewards (although the last two episodes are undeniably exceptional).

Very slow paced up until the second to last episode. This show could’ve easily been compressed to 4 episodes to take out a little of its drag. Otherwise sublime acting.

Very gripping, very adult and a very excellent soundtrack! A refreshing departure from paint by numbers television; demanding patience and investment in character over clichéd cliffhangers and ad-break bait.

The pacing is horrendous throughout. There's slow and then there's Dannemora. The problem is the first half isn't that interesting which makes it painful. But even during the interesting part of the escape, scenes tend to linger for 10 minutes longer than they need to. It feels like Ben Stiller was trying to meet a page requirement or something.

Show is well made, but it's very slow. Will continue to watch but the pacing needs work.
