Jolly rancher scene was priceless. And painful.

Kind of disappointed with this season, definitely. Cassie/Nate storylines are a mess. The only motivation Nate has for doing something like what he did this episode is "he's bad". That's it. He's the bad guy. He's a psychopath. Sure, it's possible. I just don't think it's interesting. He seems like even more of a caricature than before.

In the first season, they set it up so that he wanted to retrieve the disc because he wanted to protect his family. Now that Cal left, and he hates him, they introduced the ridiculous idea that he's doing it to save his father's company? I don't know. It just doesn't make much sense. They also destroyed Cassie as a character, one of the best from the first season.

Jules literally hasn't done anything all season. And don't even get me started about Kat. That scene with Ethan was straight-up dumb. It's crazy how they simply seem to just have given up with her story.

The show still looks and sounds great. I'll give them that, I guess.

Cassie needs her ass beat, Nate needs to go off the face of the Earth, Kat just needs someone who thinks like her, and Maddy need to drop kick Nate and Cassie

this season is like "here's an amazing scene about making up with your errors as an addict, we'll have a very wholesome dialogue between Ali and your family and it will feel amazing in contrast with last week's episode" and then five minutes later "here's a scene in which a character pretends to have a brain disorder to break up with her bf, also another one cuts herself with a screwdriver while screaming like a baby because she can't get over a tall psychopath dude with daddy issues that gives her attention"

this is being a WILDLY inconsistent show

It feels like in every episode there’s this one big fuck up that I can’t get over. This time it was Kat’s storyline… Once I got through that horrible scene I just couldn’t focus on the episode anymore. Why would they fuck up a character (with way too little screen time this season) so fast? I mean, the writers clearly decided to ignore her this season, so they should’ve just skipped this unnecessary twist as well.

Oh, man.. People complaining about tons of stuff and I'm just here hoping Custer messes up somehow and Fezco and Ash don't go down like that.

I mean, that and also that Nate is probably setting up Jules somehow now that she's in possession of the recording. Though I can't figure out how he'd do that while also avoiding the whole "I can't be the heir of a pedo" that Rue as narrator was going on about.

I don't really care about Maddy and Cassie at this point but I guess I still hope they find their way out of the respective messes they're in.

Oh yeah, Kat's storyline is just weird. There's that too. I get the gist of it but the way it was done feels awkward, even in the context of the show. Maybe if she'd had more screen time that outcome would have felt more earned.

Do you need to be a producer on the show to get a well written storyline??? Kat’s storyline is just poorly written, and that is so sad.

Such an emotional rollercoaster. No wonder I get behind on this series as it takes me a bit of time to process it. Grim and tortuous.

First miss of the season to be honest. I really trust Sam but I'm sorry I will not be watching Riverdale. Please don't pull impossible scenes with no real stakes, wastes everyone's time. Cassie was also so so annoying in this episode. Literally just showed up to rile them up and scream. I don't think Nate's mom had one good line this entire episode. Everything she said sounded utterly ridiculous. I laughed like once this entire episode and it was when Kat was trying to gaslight Ethan. The scene was terrible but in a funny way. Rues storyline was the only redeemable one, that one hit hard.
