As Sadie locked up the pub she came out to find Sean kissing a man in the street. Sadie remembers that she hasn't turned the alarm on at the pub and returns to do so. When she does she finds Lucy has taken an overdose and calls an ambulance. When the neighbours see Lucy being wheeled out of the pub Sadie tells them that she's hit her head on somthing. Pete and Eileen return from the club. They kiss on the doorstep of the pub before entering to find that Lucy's been taken to hospital. Eileen rushes after her. Gabriel leaves Yasmin. She is heartbroken but Benji tells her that she's better off without him.
Yasmin decided that she wanted to get on with her life after Gabriel left her, she declined a date from Marc but after thinking about it - asked him out. Dave and Jake asked Yasmin to be an independant witness against Gabriel in order to help Jake get off. She declined, saying that she was just as affraid of Gabriel as them. Lucy came around after her overdose, she bonded with Eileen and told her that she didn't want anything to do with Pete, she didn't even want a visit from him at the hospital, but she didn't object to a relationship between Eileen and Pete.
Lucy returns home form hospital, we learn that she and Eileen are staying at Sadie's place until they find a place of their own. Sadie tries again to persuade Eileen that honesty is the best policy and that she should confess to Pete and Lucy that she knows about their relationship. While Eileen and Lucy are settling in, Pete calls round. He and Eileen go for a walk and he tells her that he thinks he's falling in love with her. Chrissy tries in vain to get out of getting a job, she even tells Chloe that she doesn't think she's well enough to return to school so that she can stay at home to take care of her. Later, however, Gary escorts Chrissy to ask Benji for a job at the shop. To Chrissy's horror; he offers her one! Cameron was angry to see that Jake was working at the Cyber Café, and started attacking him in the street. Marc broke the fight up and Cameron told Jake that he was a murderer for accidently killig his father. Meanwhile, Yasmin finally gave in to the presure, wit
The word ""killer"" has been graphitied onto the wall outside the café, Roy orders Jake to clean it up and warns Cameron not to do it again and says he'll go to the police if he does. Cameron and Lewis decide to boycot the café because Jake's still working there. Things aren't going well in the shop. Yasmin was annoyed at Benji for hiring Chrissy without consulting her first. Chrissy wasn't too happy about the arrangement either! In an attempt to get out of working evening shifts, and after learning that Pete is a buisiness man, she invites him and Eileen to dinner - thinking they're a couple. She soon stands corrected and Pete invites the Costellos to dinner with him in the pub. The truth about Tanya and Sean was finally revealed and rumors layed to rest, it turns out that she knew he was gay all along! Lucy confessed to Eileen that she's slept with Pete, unaware that she already knew. Eileen acted as if she didn't know. At work, Pete was planning the following night's dinner party for himself, Eileen and the Costellos. Dave warned Eileen not to get involved with Pete. In the meantime, Sadie let slip to Lucy that Eileen had known about her and Pete all along. On returning home, Eileen was comfronted by an angry Lucy who accused her of being just like Pete. Cameron is still out to get Jake. He approached Sean and Tanya who were eating at the café and told them that they were being served by a murderer. Roy warned him away. Sean and Tanya were invited to dinner at Nikki and Roy's place. Jake, meanwhile, ran into Cheryl who told him he'd done the right thing in changing his statement. Jake invited her to dinner to surprise Dave, but Dave didn't show up on time because he was too busy talking to Eileen, Cheryl had left before he got there. Yasmin is still annoyed at Chrissy's
Eileen and Lucy talked things through. Eileen went to Pete's to help him prepare for the dinner party. When all the preparations were made Eileen and Pete almost kiss but are interupted by Chrissy and Gary. While his guests get comfortable, Pete goes round to Sadie's to ask Lucy why she's not at the dinner party. She tells him that she's told Eileen about him and her. At first he's angry at her but then she tells him that Eileen already knew . . . Dave meets up with Cheryl and after a drink together they go out on a date. The night is interupted, however, when Dave hears Jake leaving a message on the answering machine telling him that he's moving on. Yasmin is on the verge of sacking Chrissy but before she gets a chance she's confronted by Benji about not cancelling her wedding. Pete and Eileen fought after the dinner party. He trapped her in the pub and when she tried to make a run for it he went after her. Yasmin failed to tell the wedding planner that she didn't have a groom she also fired Chrissy and tried to kiss Marc.
Eileen has now been missing for 3 days and Lucy is getting more and more worried. She asks Cheryl to question Pete. When she does so, Pete tells her that Eileen left after he'd gone to bed. She noticed the scratches on his hand which he dismissed as a hazard of the job. Dave had an MS attack due to the stress brought on by Jake's disappearance. Myra Costello (Kate Williams), Gary's mum, arrives a day early to find that her son's new home was a little bit different from the last one. We learn that they haven't even told her that they don't have any money - they say that the reason their new house is so much smaller is due to outragous house prices in London. Sean got the all clear on his HIV test.
Cheryl was lied to throughout the episode, by both Dave and Pete. Dave told her that Jake was still living at Geri's when in fact he's run away. Geri discovered that Dave didn't know where Jake was and we were reminded that Jake has to sign in with his parole officer on Thursday. Pete lied to Cheryl about Eileen's disappearance. Later, while drunk, he came clean with Sadie and told her that he'd ruined his last chance with Eileen, that he'd loved her all along and never meant to hurt her. Doug thought that Marc had had a fling with Yasmin and had dumped her. Before consulting Marc about the issue he apologised to Yasmin for his behaviour on Marc's behalf. Later, Marc told Doug that the opposite had happened, Yasmin had tried to kiss him but he'd pulled away. Myra overheard Yasmin and Doug talking about Chrissy. Lucy can't sleep with worrying about the whereabouts of Eileen. To make matters worse, Sadie told Lucy about Pete's revelations to her the night before - that he felt responsible for Eileen's disappearance and that he wished he hadn't hurt her. Lucy got worked up and went to the pub to yell at Pete, she accused him of killing Eileen. Later, he told her that his feeling responsible for Eileen's departure didn't mean that he'd killed her, in fact he wanted to help Lucy find her mum. Lucy was undecided. Tanya found out from Dave that Sean had been having second thoughts about having a baby with her; he denied that he still had these feelings of doubt. Benji then told Tanya that Sean had spent the night with a man he'd met at the pub last Thursday, when she confronted Sean he told her that he'd slept on the man's sofa-bed - alone. From BBC Pure Soap: Cat feigned fainting for the benefit of Doug in Dusty's Store. Doug helped her home, but his sons were keen that he didn't fall for any bogus claim for compensation. Meanwhile, Cat milked it. Chloe got upset with her mum for asking her about her jewellery. Chloe later confided in her nan that she gave it away. Myra told Chrissy that her eight year old daughter had better money sense than her. Gary confided in his mum that he was on the verge of bankruptcy, but he didn't want Chrissy to know. Myra offered to sell her villa in Spain to help them out before the bailiffs were at the door. Trevor, the wedding planner, turned up so Yasmin made out Marc was in fact Gabriel, Marc played along. Trevor was happy to hear he was a ‘hands off' groom as it made his job a lot easier.

They went for a drink together at the pub. Gary was forced to tell Chrissy the whole truth about their financial dire straights. They both reluctantly agreed to accept Myra's generous offer to sell her villa in Spain to pay off their debts. Justin's plan of hosting a party to bed Kelly worked. Despite his womanising ways, once in the bedroom he losT his nerve and admitted to Kelly he was a virgin – it didn't stop them! Melanie gave Lewis a pill to get him in the party mood. It backfired on her when Lewis became very melancholy about his deceased father. Cameron threw her out and Lewis collapsed in the bathroom.

Cameron had great plans to re-launch the sandwich shop. They were soon dashed when Lewis said their mum planned to sell it when he spoke to her on the phone earlier that day. Justin lost his virginity to Kelly the night of the party. The morning after, Kelly indicated she did that sort of thing all the time, Justin thought she was joking. Melanie felt awful when she realised Lewis didn't want to talk to her. At least he was ok after the pill she gave him the night before had an adverse reaction.

This episode focuses entirely on the Costello family. Lewis visits Melanie and tells her that it was his choice to take the pills and that she shouldn't feel guilty about it. Gary and Chrissy continue to argue after Chrissy finds out that Gary wasn't fired, but instead he left his job voluntarily to save a college of his from jail. Chrissy tells him that this friend of his had tried to sleep with her while Gary was away on business. While playing around in Mel's room, Chloe finds her sister's pills and takes one! She tells her parents that she's feeling unwell and they make plans to keep her off school. Just as Chrissy heads to work, Chloe collapses on the stairs. Chloe is taken to hospital; the doctors cannot determine the cause of Chloe's illness. Later, she falls into a coma! Gary and Chrissy sort out their differences in the hospital. The doctor's tell Chrissy and Gary that Chloe is coming out of the coma; they also tell them that the coma was a result of Chloe taking ecstasy! Mel finds her bottle of pills at the bottom of her cupboard and counts them - she figures out that one is missing. Later, Mel hears Gary and Myra talking. Gary says that he's sure that Melanie had promised that she wouldn't take drugs again, but he wasn't sure. Melanie left quietly. Doug offers Cat £500 compensation; she refuses after Justin told her that Doug didn't believe her injuries are genuine. Sean and Tanya start making babies!!! Justin let it slip to Cameron that he was a virgin until he'd slept with Kelly earlier in the week. After Justin doesn't want to go out with her again, Kelly and Benji go on a date - they kiss. She sought out comfort from Lewis who said at least the hospital discovered a possible serious illness. Brendan, on the war path for Justin, thumped Sean thinking it was him. When Yasmin mentioned it to Geri she thought he had already told her. Roy and Nikki popped along to the Café to ask Geri if she would cover while they took a few days holiday. Nikki and Roy had secret plans that they were keeping to themselves. After Chloe's brush with drugs, the social worker paid a visit to the Costello's and left very stoney faced. Gary pushed Chrissy for the result of Chloe's biopsy, it was bad news. Yasmin told Benji about her plan to convert the shop into a beauty salon instead of finding new premises. From BBC Pure Soap: Cameron told Cheryl the policeman he spoke to was very interested to hear Jake had absconded. Cheryl had lied at work to keep Jake out of trouble. Jake was not aware of her kindness. Myra confronted Chrissy about her inability to cope with Chloe's illness. She admitted having therapy back in the 60's and suggested it would help Chrissy too. Chrissy dismissed the idea. Jake had not eaten for two days. Lucy came to the rescue and they met in a café. She bought him lunch and gave him £20. She couldn't convince him to come home and face the music though. Yasmin had a shock when Trevor announced the magazine planned a Mr & Mrs competition for her and Marc. She really was unsure if she could keep up the façade.
Jake came to see Lucy, he asked her if he could stay with her because he couldn't stand another night on the streets. They agree that Sadie can't know he's there. Lucy agrees to let him stay on the condition that he speaks to Dave to let him know that he's OK. Jake agrees and Dave comes round, he tells Jake that Cameron has told the police that he'd done a runner and pleaded with Jake to hand himself in. Jake told him that he'd think about it but later told Lucy that there was no way that he'd ever hand himself in. Later, Lucy bumps into Cameron. She tells him that he shouldn't be so hard on Jake; he gets the feeling that Lucy's seen Cameron and knows where he is. He tells her to tell him where he is. She refuses. Tanya took a pregnancy test. She told Sean before she looked at the result that it would come back negative and that she never got what she wanted. She was right. Jake and Lucy woke up beside each other. Lucy thanks him for not trying anything last night. They get dressed and Jake is on his way out when Sadie comes into Lucy's room. Jake hides under the bed without being noticed by Sadie, Cameron is with Sadie. He tells Lucy that he's sorry for the way he acted yesterday, Lucy tells him that it's fine - she tells him that she really has to get ready for work and asks him to leave. On his way out he spots Jake's shoes on Lucy's floor. He says nothing but later phones the police who have a warrent out for Jake's arrest. The police arrest Jake. During Jake's arrest, Pete pulls Lucy aside and tells her that he's had a phonecall from the police station about her mum. Eileen had been arrested for being drunk and disorderly and she was being held at the police station. Pete and Lucy went to the station together but Eileen had already left, leaving 'no fixed abode' when asked for her address. Pete and Lucy feel like they're back to square 1. Cheryl
Chrissy takes Chloe to the hospital for radio therapy. But she is told that it's for more tests. Melanie and Myra agree that Chloe should be told what's going on, but they agree that it's not their place to decide this or to tell Chloe. Mel goes round to Lewis' to watch a scary movie to cheer her up. The movie isn't at all scary. Mel and Lewis are joined by Justin who attempts to scare them with a story, but he copies the plot from a film. Mel then suggests that they use a Ouija board. They gather everything together. Mel begins to chant and the board spells out 'Robert', Cameron and Lewis' father's name. Mel didn't know this. Cameron comes in and smashes up the board and orders Mel and Justin out of the flat. He and Lewis sit down. Lewis suggests that they need to get away from Charnham for a while, maybe go and spend some time with their mother in France. Cameron says he'll think about it. Benji finds Yasmin looking in magazines at different beauty products. She still wants to set
Pete apologises to Eileen about the night she left. She apologises too. Lucy walks in during their conversation and is very surprised to see her mother has returned. Pete heads back down to the bar to let mother and daughter catch up. Eileen begs for Lucy's forgiveness. Lucy tells her that she thought her mother had gone for good and that she must promise never to leave her again. Eileen did, but Lucy's heard it before . . . Later, Eileen tells Pete and Lucy that she only came back to Charnham to tie up some loose ends and now she wants to move on and leave for good and she wants Lucy to come with her! Doug confronts Marc and Yasmin about their plans to get married for the money, he's not happy about the arrangement. Lucy is angry and upset after Mike's revelations about her mum. Mike jokingly tells Lucy that if she's ever short of money just to give him a call. Eileen tells him that he's not welcome in their home. Eileen apologises to Lucy, she tells her that she was never meant to find out and that she only did it for her. Eileen says that it started when she, Lucy and Charlotte had just had a visit from the bailiffs. They were left with nothing - she had no other choice. It went on for 3 months. Lucy begins to understand that her mother only did it out of love for her family. She asks her to consider Pete's offer and start seeing him again . . . Cheryl offers Dave money towards Jake's bale. At first Dave refuses but when he realises that there's no other way to get Jake out of prison he accepts the money, unfortunately it's not enough. He asks Yasmin to loan him the rest - she tells his she'll see what she can do. Dave tells Lucy the good news and Lucy tells Jake who admits that he can't take being locked up any more . . . Melanie spends the night with Justin at the Davenport's flat. She's disappointed to learn that her mother doesn't care where she's been all night. Justin and Doug's situation is the opposite; Doug is worried that he's not seeing enough of his son. He invites him round for lunch but Justin tells him that he's OK. Myra leaves, temporarily. Kelly took a pregnancy test, it was positive. Her mother told her that they'd get through this together. Kelly asked her not to tell her father or Brendan until she'd come to terms with it. Denise tried to persuade Kelly to talk to Benji - Denise assumes he's the father . . . Kelly tells her mum that she'll speak to Benji but instead heads round to see Justin. Kelly and Justin don't get a chance to speak because Mel is there. Kelly leaves Justin and Mel confused. Later, Kelly bumps into Benji. When he asks her what's wrong she tells him that it's just college stuff - nothing for him to worry about. Sadie asks Doug to dinner because he's feeling lonely with Justin staying at the Davenport's. He agrees. Later, Sadie plays matchmaker as she tells Cat that she's going to make her dinner to cheer her up. Sadie leaves Cat and Doug to it. Roy told Pete that Yasmin had made a better offer on the cafe. Pete told him he'd pay more in cash; Roy said he'd think about it. Pete goes to the shop to ask Yasmin what she thinks she's doing; she tells him that she has every right to bid on the cafe as he does. Later, Pete tells Eileen that he'd had a few troubles with the purchase of the cafe but he'd seen to them. She tells him that she'd pleased but we can see that she's not . . . Later, Eileen calls Mike and asks if they can meet - something's gone horribly wrong. Roy suffered severe burns. He was rushed to the hospital. Nikki insisted on going in the ambulance with him, despite being in a pretty bad way herself. Sadie went round to Sean and Tanya's to ask Sean to give her, Darren and Becky a lift to the hospital. Tanya says he can't because he's drunk. Sadie decides to get a cab. Sean agrees to come along to make sure everything's OK. Later, at the hospital, the doctor's prep Roy for surgery while Nikki wants to see her husband. As Roy goes into the operation theatre, they allow Nikki to see him. Pete suggests that he and Eileen postpone the wedding due to recent events. Eileen is upset by the idea; she is very upset by the whole ordeal. She tells Nikki that if she could turn the clock back she would. She calls Mike and tells him they need to talk. Sadie and Lucy agree to be Pete and Eileen's witnesses for their wedding. Chrissy wasn't very happy when Myra sent a 'few' boxes ahead of herself from Spain. Gary made a joke out of it and the girls made a game of trying to guess the contents of the boxes. The police were asking questions, the same police officer that investigated Josh Matthew's murder. They start with Nikki; she points the finger at Pete. She points out that the officer has charged him for murder before. Next, the police visit Yasmin. She tells them that Pete's offer on the cafe had not been accepted. The police question Pete and Eileen about the fire at the cafe. Pete tells them that he was at home with Eileen all evening. Eileen confirms the story, even though it's not true. Lester, Kelly's father, finds out that she's pregnant and isn't all that happy when he discovers that everybody else in the family seems to know already. He goes to the shop to talk to Benji but he's away over night DJing. Marc invites the family round for Sunday lunch the next day. They agree. Myra returns from Spain. Gary fetches her from the airport. Earlier, Gary tried to persuade Chrissy to be nice to her mother-in-law. She reluctantly agreed. When Myra arrives she's greeted by Sadie who tells her she's off to a singles party. It's bad news for Roy. The doctors all come to the same conclusion; there's nothing more they can do for him. They suggest that Nikki should take the decision to turn off Roy's life support. She still can't get hold of Vince, Roy's father.
From BBC Pure Soap: Dave burst into the courtroom at the eleventh hour with documents proving Jake was his official career and therefore an ‘exceptional circumstance' to prevent Jake's jail term. Jake took the honest road and made an emotional speech in court. He confessed he was never Dave's carer but that he felt remorse and sorrow at his actions. He went down for 2 years. D.I Kirkdale was hot on Pete's trail; he lurked around the pub and threatened Pete that the game was up. Pete worried enough to burn any incriminating documents without a trace. Yasmin's stress levels hit a new high when she discovered gardening tools delivered to the beauty salon by mistake. Happily Trevor came by to ask a favour and took her mind off the disaster.

Kelly took up the offer of a few pre-stag night drinks. Geri and Sadie wouldn't serve her any more drinks. It wasn't long before Justin ordered an ambulance after Kelly collapsed. After a lot of emotional black mail and pressure from Trevor, Yasmin conceded and decided to go ahead with the wedding after all. Marc was happy she had changed her mind. Eileen was surprised to see Chrissy and Chloe out in town when they were supposed to be at the hospital.
