This is such a cozy, sweet show that will be appreciated by anyone who enjoys Chris Guest's mockumentaries like This is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, et al.
The only downside of this show is the fact it was only eight episodes. I would've loved to have seen more from the character played by Nina Conti and her subconscious embodied by Monk, a hand puppet which she was giving as a child to help her express herself. Ed Begley Jr. is also very funny as the California cousin.
This is one of those shows that I will continue to rewatch and share with everyone who never heard of it.

Family Tree another great comedy from 2013! Chris O'Dowd is awesome too bad it got cancelled after one season.

I love Spinal Tap, Best In Show - well, everything Christopher Guest does, so this was a must see. Very funny.

It's one of those vicarious embarrassment mockumentary comedies, but one I enjoyed a bit more than others of the sort (e.g. The Office). The humour stems from the extravagant characters Tom meets, benefitting from the fact that they're not overexaggerated so as to become just caricatures. The more and more bewildering things Tom learns about his ancestors are cleverly written (as far as I've seen). However, I feel like the writers were already struggling to come up with plotlines by episode 2, so I really don't think there'd be material for a second season.

What's this..... the promise is completely boring... and it's amazing how many bad jokes (those are supposed to be jokes, right?) they can but in there.
