The 55th Filmfare Awards were held on February 27, 2010 at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The awards given for 30 categories, out of which there were 3 special awards, 3 critics awards and 24 main awards for Hindi films released in 2009. There were 60 nominations for the top 10 categories, which were based on votes via web and newspaper forms.[1] The award ceremony was hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. The major award winning film turned out to be 3 Idiots which garnered six Filmfare awards, followed by Dev D with four awards and, Delhi 6 and Firaaq with three awards each. Paa fetched Amitabh Bachchan his fifth Filmfare Best Actor Award and Vidya Balan her first ever Filmfare Best Actress Award, for their performance as the son-mother duo of Auro and Vidya.
The 56th Filmfare Awards were held on January 29, 2011 at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, honouring the best in film for the year 2010. The nominations were announced on January 13. The date of the function was unusual because generally the awards are hosted on the last Saturday of February.[1] The date of the telecast is 6 February 2011.
The 57th Filmfare Awards were held on January 29, 2012 at Film City, Mumbai honoring the best film of 2011 from the Hindi-language film industry (commonly known as Bollywood). The ceremony was jointly hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Incidentally, both of them have hosted the award ceremonies previously but with different co-hosts (Khan with Saif Ali Khan, Kapoor with Imran Khan), hence making it the first time for this pair to host the show. The nominations for the awards were announced on January 11, 2012.[1] Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was the most nominated, receiving 13 nominations. It was followed by Rockstar with nine nominations, and Delhi Belly with seven nominations. Consequently, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara won seven awards, becoming the leading award winner for films in 2011. The 2012 awards thus equaled 2011 (Udaan) for the maximum number of awards won by a single film, and this also marked the largest award tally for a single film since 2007 (Omkara). 2012 also marked the first time after 2010 (3 Idiots) that the film with the most number of nominations also won the most number of awards. The 57th Filmfare awards were televised on February 19, 2012 to the public. Ranbir Kapoor won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award and second Filmfare Best Actor(Critics) Award for his role of Janardhan/Jordan in Rockstar, while Vidya Balan won her fourth Filmfare Award and second Filmfare Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Silk/Reshma in The Dirty Picture.

The nominations were announced on January 13, 2013.[1] The ceremony was held on January 20, 2013 at Yash Raj Studio, Mumbai. The event was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan for the sixth time. All the Statuettes had Gold-plated bottoms to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema. The Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded posthumously to Yash Chopra (collected by his wife) by Karan Johar.

The nominations were announced on January 13, 2014.[1] The ceremony that was held on January 24, 2014 (telecasted on January 26, 2014) was hosted by actors Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
