Fishing Australia brings you magical moments and world firsts when it comes to fishing, whether it’s fishing for the whole family, going to extreme measures or using cutting edge techniques.
This regionally produced recreational program is hosted by professional fishing guide, writer, photographer and television presenter, Rob Paxevanos, a man who loves fishing, the environment and just being outdoors.
Over the last nine years Rob has explored the length and breadth of Australia in search of unique locations, catching different species of fish, with some memorable characters, using varied techniques, in all kinds of conditions.
Papua New Guinea Rob launches one of his greatest-ever fishing adventures, as he travels to the jungles of Papua New Guinea and embarks on 600-kilometre journey of the Fly River in a quest to conquer the fearsome and fabled Black Bass.
Papua New Guinea Rob's great adventure continues in part 2 of this special series in the jungles of Papua New Guinea where his quest for the fearsome Black Bass leads him on a 600-kilometre journey up the Fly River.
[VIC] Camperdown The picturesque lakes around Camperdown in central Victoria provide a magical playground for Rob's first ever encounter with Chinook salmon in Australia, and he also enjoys the opportunity to participate in the Salmon population programme.
[TAS] King Island Tasmania’s unique and diverse natural beauty has always been a favourite with Fishing Australia, so Rob returns and this time lands on the magical King Island where he meets up with local icon Ian Johnson for an adventure that takes in the very best of what the island has to offer.
[NSW] Jervis Bay Rob takes a trip to the NSW South Coast and the pristine waters of Jervis Bay to experience a wonderful variety of fishing locations among the picturesque estuaries, and then heads to sea to tackle some deep water species against the dramatic backdrop of the towering ocean cliffs.
The stunning scenery of WA's red desert and turquoise waters form the backdrop of an epic fishing adventure when Rob's drops into Shark Bay and encounters the catch of a lifetime while kayaking on his Hobie.
Rob wraps up his best season yet of Fishing Australia with a look at some of this year's highlights, which include his adventure into the jungles of Papua New Guinea's Fly River where he chased the fearsome Black Bass, and the deep blue trophy fish of Norfolk Island and the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
