Matt Le Tissier was a remarkable player. He was remarkable for his loyalty to Southampton. In a one-club career he played 540 times for the Saints, scoring 209 goals and converting an amazing 47 out of 48 penalties. But that wasn't the reason he was revered all over the footballing world by fans everywhere: not just those who watched him week in week out at the Dell Or St Mary's. No, Matt was remarkable for his amazing level of skill and his unforgettable goals. Le God didn't score Tap-ins; he scored scorching, breathtaking, brilliant goals that have never been equalled in the Premiership. He scored from free kicks, he would beat a defence, sometimes twice, before rolling the ball nonchalantly into the far corner, or he would hit ferocious, unstoppable shots that would leave goalkeepers grasping thin air.
