How did this go in the writers' room..
"Hey, let's have Karen take charge of Helios and have her finally believe in herself and take something for herself."
"Yes, then the bombing kills her before she does anything."
"Guys, this is the perfect time to bring Molly back!!"
"Yes!! And also the time to kill her off!"
I love this show so much but also hate it sometimes.
How do the Koreans get there without being seen? Not on a ship carrying a probe, it doesn't get there without being seen.
Once landed,
where do you get the cans? Where do you get the water? Where do you get the toilet? The module is too small
Did the orbiting spacecraft not see or pick up the Korean spacecraft on the ground?
Holy shit! What in the name of Mother Russia just happened?!
Honestly, I'm very mixed. The explosion was the biggest turnoff and to be honest, the Steven brothers have the worst storylines. Everyone staying behind so Kelly can have her baby is beautiful, and even when Ed flies the ship to have her leap off even though he might not land. THIS IS FOR ALL MANKIND! This works! The Steven brothers seeing that it's too late to condone their sins... that can go. I was really sad to see Karen leave (honestly her being head of Helios would've been interesting) but I guess this means more Dev. Molly was technically written off the show, so it was nice to give her one last hurrah since she was a lead in the first two seasons. Then there's Margo... honestly, the explosion seemed the best fit for ending her arc since you know, she'd go to jail. Seeing her in Russia shows that she'll now make the SU a big player in space exploration in the 2000's (and she'll be Aleida's arch nemesis) but honestly, I was hoping we'd get a tease for where the story would go space-wise (like the rocket with the nukes in S1 and the first feet on Mars in S2). I'm mixed, it'll be interesting to see where this show goes next, I really hope the writers read the reviews!
One of the best shows at the moment. Rich characters, surprising developments, great acting and a fantastic story. I love the underlying fight between collective and the single hero (the hero feels totally outdated, what he is, but the collective as nasa is necessary for the here to strive ...) also I'm really moved the the show also stands for so much positive like science ans solidarity...
Great season finale.
I just don't get the mindset of the whole "I worked in oil/gas/etc, and my daddy did, and his daddy before him, what am I gonna do now that clean energy is all that is used?" Like dude go get some new skills and learn some shit.
That was a very Kerbal maneuver!!!!
These Stevens Kids are really causing some problems, lol.
Great season finale!
The music for the end scenes / open scenes for the seasons are always epic.
this time, Radiohead
Why was Karen at JSC? "Plot". Why did Molly Cobb need to be at JSC to tell Ed Baldwin how to fly the MSAM? "Plot". Why was Kelly Baldwin (NASA employee) breaking protocol by having unprotected intercourse and then carrying to term? "Plot".
This was a season full of poor writing and weak plot. I should have shut it off after the first few episodes.
This season wasn’t very good. I really liked the 1st two seasons though.
This season was so bad
I thought the baby will be born in Mars and be a Martian, now he’s born in orbit so he’d be an ET!
And with this fantastic reference to Robert A. Heinlein ends another incredible season of, for me, the best science fiction series that is being broadcast right now (with permission from The Expance, sadly cancelled).
The worst are the Stevens, how I've hated them!
All others, for the win...
I am left with two pure lyrical moments in motion, Kelly's flight to the Phoenix and Molly Cobb's figure in the smoke, an ending worthy of our heroine.
Well, and Ed Baldwin walking towards his would-be rescuers like at the end of The Right Stuff.
An absolute explosive season finale. Really shocked and sad about the passing of Karen. She was one of my favorites. Also Molly Cobb getting a deserved send off. Her character was especially dear to me but sadly had not a lot of screen time this season and then got killed off screen which was a bit weird imo. Margo‘s outcome this season was quite predictable, but still the last scene was very well done and I can‘t wait to see where her story leads next season. Wrenn Schmidt does an amazing job in this role. Also especially loving Coral Pena ad Aleida in this season. She is so talented.
For the crew on Mars it‘ll be interesting to see where these characters are at the start of Season 4, considering a few years will have passed by then. Overall another great season of this brilliant sci-fi show.
Molly giving it to Karen straight and the shock on the latter's face was funny as hell  God I missed this woman!
Kelly and Alexei were stupid and selfish to risk her getting pregnant, which to me, was so unlike Kelly. Now, everyone in the Mars crew had to make a sacrifice.
I was disappointed at Bill for going behind Aleida's back. But I honestly don't understand why Aleida shared her discovery with him in the first place if she didn't plan on reporting Margo all along. She should've just confronted Margo directly.
And Jimmy boy, WTF have you done?? Dear God, I'm so over the Stevens brothers! Let me guess, they won't even suffer any repercussions for all the shits they've caused, will they? Goddammit.
All these issues because:
1. They leave sensitive medicine open for anybody
2. They can't avoid having sex
Pretty weak
The season had an awkward start but I'm glad it paid off to stick around. I knew that the other Stevens kid was bound to be involved in something like this, but still, sheeeet! I wonder if next season will have the follow-up of this event as an important storyline - maybe it's what saves Ellen from impeachment, but I'm especially interested in what will become of the terrorists, and if conspirationists will become more or less common because of it. I don't suppose she would bring forth "The Patriot Act", would she?...
Molly had a great final run but I'm a bit bothered by Karen's - she had a very meh story since The Outpost and now that she could become interesting again... On a happier note, I thought Margo was done for good but, hey, maybe her storyline could kickstart the International Space Station...
Hands down the best season.
Very bad season destroyed by the social brainwashing moments, which sadly was most of the time...
What happened to this show? So much happened because plot needed I. Dannys arc was stupid before this season, but boy go it worse. And the other son is just a weak vehicle for the big plot bomb at the end. Why?
Why did Molly even have to be there? They obviously wanted to get rid of the character, same as the wife. And at least have the decency to kill of Margo,it would have been at least a somewhat dignified ending
And that whole pregnancy thing... what? Why?
It's kinda sad that the space exploration aspect gets shoved more and more into the background, because it's really the biggest thing it has going for it, for Drama you can find plenty other sources, but there isn't all that much good space content out there. DPRK being secretly first to Mars is stupid too, but at least it's stupid space stuff.
Spoiler: next season they will land on Jupiter
That was a hard and heavy ending. It reminded me of the Oklahoma bombing. It must have been very triggering to watch for survivors.
On a lighter note, who else thought Danny was going to confess he slept with Karen?
Good call back to last season ending scene with the footstep
Im not sure how believable it is that a country that didn’t even go to the moon gets all the way to mars and no one on earth knew they even launched a rocket? So much for America claiming to have the best tech.
I been saying this from jump. See exactly what i said happened now we got to sacrifice the crew to get this girl and her child up to the mothership. But apparently i was being an asshole when i said that rule about no one getting pregnant in space and birth control should be mandatory since grown ass adults dont know how to keep it in their pants.
Once again, another fucking chance to get rid of this Danny bullshit storyline with Karen and he bitches out again! Jesus just kill of this guy already clearly we aren’t going to see him ever tell ED
How stupid is Karen to go check out those vans without backup :man_facepalming_tone3:
Did they just kill Karen instead of Danny!
Damn i take back everything i said about Karen! Well done eriters you made me care about her again. Thats a fucked up way for her to go. She didn’t deserve that.
I dont want to be that guy but it sure as hell looked suspicious that Margo walked out then a bomb went off lol she cant catch a break if you go by all the evidence. She’s the poster child for wrong place at the wrong time.
Fuck man. Ed sorry my guy. A son and now let’s just call her what she is his WIFE! Fuck
:joy: that probe they put Danny in is smaller than a room at their base. If i were them id hope he goes crazy then we aren’t responsible for his death.

Digital.
The end of the seasons are always sad.
Holly Molly that ending was intense.
I like how NASA figures out the solutions for the Mars folks.
Can anyone explain what was about that useless President’s storyline? It added nothing whatsoever to the show. I’m here to watch SciFi, space travelling, not annoying political drama.
And don’t make me start about the killing of some of the best characters…Without any explanation about the last one who died!
Nice punchy end there. Love a well placed Radiohead song.
Last 4/5 episodes I've found it really hard to look at Ed for too long once I realised how much he reminds me of my uncle who I recently lost. So I'm glad he wasn't one of the fallen this episode!
Goddammit Molly. Breaking my heart with your tough exterior but heart of gold where it counts.
We've got 3 nations and 4 original space teams coming together there and it's a domestic terrorist plot that caused the most damage. It's a very believable extreme unfortunately. Especially Jimmy getting drawn into it. He's exactly the type that would.
I'm glad Margo survived and is on the lamb too :joy:
the riverdale of apple tv
There's an "extra" scene after all the credits, not really a scene, but more of a "behind the scenes" thing explaining the technology used in the show. This is the first episode I've noticed this. Are there these things in other episodes?
Can't wait until season four!
They hire writers from Riverdale this season.
I don't know about you guys, but this looks like a 15 out of 10 rating episode to me..
this was epic episode 10/10

Not at great as season 2's finale, but still pretty momentous (they even bring the two weakest storylines -- the two Stevens kids -- to mostly cathartic events/confrontations, which don't exactly redeem those but at least have a bit of pay-off to them), and almost as poignant. Karen and Molly wrecked me. Glad they shine a fun, bad-ass spotlight on the latter (plus a great final shot) as a send-off.
