What the public didn’t know was that he was dying from AIDS.

But Stuart Challender was not defeated by his illness.

Despite being progressively weakened, he continued to perform, using the short time he had left as a spur to his musical achievement.

The program won the 1991 Walkley Award for Best Application of TV Medium to Journalism.
