It’s the first day of the holy month and the four ladies are trying to cope with new routine which includes giving up coffee, distributing food for charity and having to keep up with all sorts of cheesy programs to kill time.
Um Allawi receives her online purchase order of her favorite dubbed soap opera titled “A Day in my Life”. Um Saloom, in the mean time start to have her frequent memory loss symptom which freaks out Um Saeed. Everything comes to a halt when Um Khammas barges in with a confession that brings with it a guest and many troubles.
Um Khammas is invited to perform in a huge wedding ceremony. She plays down the risks from her competitor that night “Dalouat Dubai” who manages to steel the show from under her feet. Um Khammas goes into depression but her friends lend a helping hand and teach her a lesson or two on how to re brand herself and take on her competition one more time.
Agha the sole grocery shop owner in FREEJ wakes up one day to find a new grocery shop opened right next to him. In the mean time, Um Saeed announces that she has hired a new maid to help her out with the house work and run her errands. Agha and Rafeeq go into a grocery war and Um Saeed starts seeing less of her maid thanks to Um Khammas’s special errands.
Bu Khammas; Um Khammas’s first husband, decides to pay her a visit from the afterworld to inform her that he is not happy where he is because he has an unpaid debt that she has to pay on his behalf or else he will haunt her forever. Um Khammas and the rest of the group go through several hardships to locate debt benefactor and make sure that Bu Khammas is not in debt any longer. (Part 1 of 2 episodes)

Um Khammas is shocked to learn that the train makes a detour on her house and decides to exchange her house with her stingy neighbor “Um Jameel” who smells a conspiracy at first but then agrees to Um Khammas’s offer
Um Saeed is sick and tired from sitting and home and doing nothing. She decided to finish her education and enrolls alongside her friends in the special school catering for older citizens. They are met with a stiff teacher who decides to make their lives a living nightmare.
Um Khammas is paid a surprise visit by Um Al Duwais; the infamous deamon known for her knife shaped hand. Her visit soon turns to be a plead for help as she is in love with Bu Darya; the sea demon and seek the help of Um Khammas who was married thrice before. Um Khammas is promised a huge reward if she manages to get the two happily married and goes on a mission to become a demon matchmaker

Um Saeed decides to relive the old days and conjure a feast for all of the group’s friends. She relies on Um Khammas to do the needed cooking but she soon finds out that Um Khammas did a terrible mistake and left the food burning. In an attempt to save the day, Um Khammas turns to her catering service competitor for urgent help.
Um Saloom’s sudden unexplained illness causes her friends to suspect that Um Saeed has cursed her with the ominous evil eye. Though, initially Um Saeed refuses to agree, the subsequent events eventually confirm that she does have the evil eye, causing her friends to keep away from her. However, when things start to deteriorate, they unanimously decide to find a solution to help reunite them with their best friend.
Um Khammas loses her beloved red sapphire ring and after accusing all the ladies of steeling it, she turns to a mysterious old woman who claims to know the answer for everything if the right price was paid. Um Khammas falls for the witch’s tricks and obey the witch’s instruction, spending a few days buying haystacks from Agha and burning them in an attempt to locate her missing ring.
The shopping festival has started and the ladies visit the global village. Um Saeed goes into a bargaining war while Um Allawi decides to visit the French Village. Um Khammas spends some time convincing Um Saloom that her dead pet fish was actually a chicken. The two of them later visit the Kenyan visit before regrouping again in front of the main gate.
The four ladies are enjoying yet another peaceful morning at Um Saeed’s house until an unexpected and unwanted visitor pops up. Um Saeed’s young grandson Abood, or as the grannies like to call him “Abood Zakho” is dropped off at her house as his mum is delivering her second child. his stay turns out to be a nightmare as the four ladies do all they can to control is hyper nature, trying every trick up their sleeves with no apparent effect, Um Khammas saves the day by pulling one of her once-in- a- life time tricks, usually reserved for desperate measure.
It’s summer time and the ladies decide to break their mundane routine and enroll in a women only summer camp that focuses on reliving the old days, complete with all the traditional activities that are nowadays lost. They soon discover that reliving the old days isn’t all what it’s cranked up to be, not with a fierce camp leader such as Sa’ooda Salinga!
The ladies decide to pay a visit to Kashoona; the infamous communicator with the dead. Their visit was short lived after witnessing one of Kashoona’s frightening sessions. Rushing home, they four ladies made it back in one piece but they also brought back with them an unwelcome guest.
It’s the eve of Eid and the ladies are gathered at their hanging out place. All seems well until Um Khammas barges in and insists that they should go on a shopping spree, promising that she will cover all their expenses, thanks to the belated check she received for singing in wedding years ago. After a stop at the crowded supermarket, they head out to pick up their Eid dresses from Mushtaq the tailor, who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, thanks to the long queue in front of his store. The morning of Eid is never complete without lots of kids who pass by each of the four ladies’ houses for the expected donations but little do they know what is in store for them and little does Um Khammas know that her financial luck is about to run into a financial shock!
It’s a very hot summer day and the four friends are trying to cope with the immense heat which slowly tests their patience. A quarrel soon erupts between the ill-tempered grannies about the importance of preserving water or in the case of Um Khammas, wasting it. The sudden overheat of the city’s electricity generator later that night adds salt to the wound and the four friends now have to cope with the lack of electricity and most importantly, the lack of water. In this episode, the ladies will soon learn that water is indeed the secret of life.
News of Um Khammas’s son coming back to town after a lengthy stay in the States dampens his mother’s day. Fearing her son’s reaction to her illustrious career path, she decides to try her luck at new, more respectful business endeavors all that which later proved to be a waste of valuable time and valuable money. She finally decides to get herself out of this mess by using her most effective tool; her tongue!
Atheejah decides to drop by Um Saeed’s house for a cup of coffee. Tension soon fills the air as both Um Saeed and Atheejah start flexing their poetry reciting muscles on each other. Um Allawi proposes an official poetry duel between two teams spearheaded by each of them. A big contest is soon held moderated by non other than Agha; the grocery shop owner who tries to keep count of the score as the two teams battle it out in an exciting even to remember
Um Khammas is faced with the horror of horrors when she surprisingly sees her withering reflection in a mirror after twenty years of mirror boycott. The shock she got out of this brief experience prompts her to make a life changing decision; a cosmetic makeover. As she will soon find out, it’s inner beauty that counts the most.
Um Allawi comes back from the book fair with a book about Arabian folk tales which she decides to read to her friends. The magical tales of past Arab heroes suck the ladies into a world filled with enchantment and mystery. Their interaction with the stories’ characters is one that evokes a lot of fun and in the case of Um Khammas, a lot of fight!
Um Saeed, Um Allawi and Um Saloom are busy sorting out the endless stacks of wedding invitiations delivered to them everyday. Um Khammas barges in her usual style and the conversation soon turns at how she is not getting enough business from weddings, no thanks to her number one competitor. She secretly devices a plan to break into his house along with her friends, fooling them that they are going to a costume part at the famous singer’s house, not aware that she is actually seeking out what she thinks is his secret of success; the famous red “magical” beads.
A TV Presenter; Um Allawi’s childhood dream was suddenly awoken when Um Saloom threw a question she had forgotten to ask forty years ago! The ladies then set out to assist Um Allawi achieve her dream but they too end up joining the media taskforce, after an offer they couldn’t resist from the station’s general manager. Um Khammas a TV presenter! Why not?
Ten days! That’s how long Um Khammas has left before she dies; well that’s at least according to the shady doctor that diagnosed her. She spends her last ten days trying to fix her messed up relationships and pretending to be very religious. This new change in attitude towards life takes our friend a little bit too far. Is this how Um Khammas will live her remaining days? Or will all this turn out to be nothing but a false alarm?
The ladies try to escape the summer heat by planning a trip to the mall. Their mall of choice is the Ibn Battuta Mall; famous for its intriguing interior settings and fabulous facades, reflecting the travels and adventures of the man its named after. The ladies run into different scenarios that define Dubai’s “mall culture”. It’s shopping time, FREEJ style!
Um Allawi wins a trip to a European city and the three other ladies decide that they too need a break from the summer heat and decide to accompany her. We follow our friends as they prepare to embark on this exciting journey to Europe; they later find out that wherever they go or whatever they do, there is no place like home
Um Um Khammas is always a nightmare whenever she decides to pop in. her visit this time brings shocking news to the ladies as she announces that she is getting married soon. Um Khammas, shocked with her mother’s mighty marital luck has to also endure the formalities of meeting her new step father to be. Later, the awkward encounter proved to be more than anyone can handle.
Um Jameel is scheduled to go for Haj this year and decides to leave her bohemian teenage daughter, Jameela, in the custody of the ladies during her absence. The four ladies are overwhelmed by her care free attitude and modern outlook on life. So they embark on a mission to give her a cultural makeover. Will they succeed?
Um Khammas goes down memory lane and reminisces about her past... sharing one of her sad childhood stories with her friends. The story goes like this: Yagoot, the famous sea captain was in complete readiness to wed and Um Khammas held a deep desire to conquer his heart, but the dream was short-lived as her mother decided to take things into her own hands, or shall we say feet!
All's not well with the newly- wed Um Khammas who is not too happy with her new husband. In fact, she is irked by his cheeky ways. She demands a prompt divorce, which infuriates her daughter who unleashes her volatile temper...in a fit of rage. Her divorce plans are ruined when she receives unexpected big news.
Um Khammas' catering business is on a downhill slide as her customers are bored stiff with her menu. Um Allawi thinks up an idea to fix this and recommends putting sushi on the menu to win the customers' palette back. This new mandate sends them on a shopping expedition to the fish market. All is well until something goes very wrong on their way home.
A perfect day in FREEJ is challenged when news of the arrival of Fatoom Oloom breaks out. This old, jaded woman thrives on 'gossip' and her inquisitiveness knows no bounds, with her nose for news perpetually on a high alert! The four ladies try their best to avoid her daily antics but once one of them falls prey to her tricks, the rest quickly follow.
Um Saeed decides to hire the services of a new maid and this sends Um Khammas into fury as she believes that she can do a better job than the maid and certainly deserves the extra cash. The maid arrives and she soon puts her evil plans to work. The other three ladies discover her 'not-so-noble' intentions and try their best to save the day but will they do so in the nick of time?
Um Saloom's son and his wife decide to take their mother on holiday. Um Allawi on the other hand is busy with her own family who is also visiting. This leaves Um Saeed and Um Khammas who both try to get in touch with their own families. They soon uncover the truth that in this day and age, maintaining family bonds isn't what it used to be.
The cost of living in FREEJ has sky-rocketed yet again. The whole pack is desperately trying to cope with the rising inflation and figure out how to meet their daily needs. This leads to several clashes and conflicts between the ladies and Agha, the greedy, scheming merchant of FREEJ.
The ladies are called upon by Abood's parents to attend his school's annual teacher/parent meeting. Things get out of hand when they discover the poor quality standards of the school and are especially appalled by it lack of the most valuable educational tool: good teachers!
FREEJ is changing, as many of the long-standing residents move away. They are being replaced by unruly youth and foreigners with different customs and beliefs, leaving the neighborhood in turmoil. As the tension mounts, Um Khammas finds herself in the thick of the action, clashing with one of the newcomers. How will the ladies resolve this thorny situation? Is this the end of FREEJ as we know it?

The businesswoman Um Khammas decides to diversify her business and venture into the tourism industry through a partnership with an Egyptian guy who convinces her that she would make a fortune out of this business. It starts with organising tour guides for tourists, but ends up with many surprises! Will Um Khammas be lucky with her new business?
Um Khammas is overjoyed when she learns that her son Khammas is returning from the States. She thinks that he has finally finished his studies in the US and has received not one but two PhDs’! Is her happiness short-lived and what are the two little surprises he has decided to bring with him instead of the degree?
After a sudden misunderstanding, Um Saeed and her best friend Atheeja decide to stop talking to each other. The three other ladies are left in charge of delivering poems to the best friends through an interesting journey all the way from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately Um Khammas finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. She gets arrested by the police, who charges her with fraud and deception! The other three ladies try their best to prove that there was a misunderstanding and that she is innocent. Is this really so and why is she refusing to leave jail?
After being fed up with the greed and selfishness of Agha, the FREEJ ladies decide to join forces and plan bring down Agha. They see this as an opportunity for other grocery shops to operate in the neighbourhood. However, they are surprised to learn that Agha has a secret storeroom and that he is prepared to stand up against revolutionists, no matter what!
The ladies are determined to expose Agha’s fraudulent financial books, so they plan to steal these books from his secret underground storeroom. It turns out to be a really tough journey for them. Will the ladies’ willpower eventually triumph?
Um Allawi suggests they should go out and have dinner at a fancy French restaurant for a change. However, the antics of the other ladies puts her in embarrassing situations. Um Saeed and Um Khammas in particular are not satisfied with what they are served and decide to cook their own favourite dish in the restaurant’s kitchen! We’ll soon find out why they will always regret the decision to eat outside!
The four ladies are unexpectedly invited to a party hosted by Shamma, a high-class lady. Once they reach Shamma’s villa, they are surprised to see the expensive things Shamma owns and the unusual guests who have been invited. As usual, Um Khammas is keen on making some extra money by doing the impossible for Shamma, but what she doesn’t know is that Shamma has no intention of paying her for her services. However, an unexpected turn of events changes plans for both!
Ousha, an old friend of Um Saeed, pays Um Saeed a visit after such a long time. She chides her for not leaving the house at all anymore and reminds her of all the social duties they are expected to perform, like in the old days. Unfortunately things don’t go according to plan and a spate of extremely sad events are to follow.
Um Saeed has mysteriously disappeared, and no one knows her whereabouts. When Um Khammas and Um Saloom tour the neighbourhood trying to sell their dear friend’s furniture, they stumble across a deserted house. The spiders and rats are enough to send the grandmothers screaming, but something far more shocking is waiting inside for them…Will the old ladies see the light of day? And will Abood ever see his grandmother again?
The old ladies are reunited – but not for long. Um Saeed bows out of a group trip to her farm to plough, plant and harvest crops on a farming simulation game on her iPad. While the grannies are frolicking on the real farm, new-age granny Um Saeed is running up huge credit card debts to play Izbaville. At her age, she should know better! Will the game end before Um Saeed is declared bankrupt? And can the old ladies bring their friend back to reality?
Um Saeed and her friends make a shocking discovery in a time-travelling adventure. The daring grannies are transported back to the 1980’s after getting an electric shock while trying to fix Um Saeed’s TV aerial on the roof. The farcical foursome goes back to an unforgettable day in Um Saeed’s life – but what is the secret of that day? And, can they ever return to the present?
Um Khammas comes up with a get rich quick scheme following an unexpected visit to an auction in Liwa. After telling her friends of how a camel named Bint Soghan was sold for AED 70 million to trader Bu Abdulla, the grannies are egged on by their greedy companion to hatch a money-making scheme. Disguised as Omani tourists they plan to photograph the prized camel at Bu Abdulla’s farm, then find a similar animal to sell to him with a multi-million dirham price tag. Can the old ladies outwit the trader, or will they just end up with the hump?
The chaos ensues as the grannies head to the camel market in search of a 'Bint Soghan' lookalike that they can sell to Bu Abdulla. Perhaps unsurprisingly it does not go to plan – at all! When it looks like all hopes of living the high life are lost, Um Jameel comes in carrying a hair belonging to Bint Soghan, which was given to her by her daughter Jameela. Um Khammas then has an ingenious idea – and together with Um Allawi they put this priceless plan into action.
There’s some friendly family rivalry in the build up to the annual school singing competition. When Abood turns to Um Khammas for help in choosing a winning song, the competitive grandmother has other ideas – for her own grandchildren to win the trophy! While Um Khammas seeks the help of a vocal coach to keep her little ones in tune, Abood is given an unexpected helping hand. Is it enough to help him hit the high notes or will the spotlight fall elsewhere?
Um Saloom’s gluttony, excessive sleep and ceaseless snorting all become too much for her faithful friends. During one snore-heavy snooze the three old ladies attempt to wake her up – using the one word they know will bring her out of a heavy slumber: sago (tapioca). Once awake, Um Saloom shares her dreams about the grannies, which are all good omens except for Um Khammas, who goes to extraordinary lengths to influence her friend’s dreams. Can she change her fate?
It’s the FREEJ Public Market and each of the old Ladies is preparing for the big event in her own way. Organiser Um Allawi is managing the running of the event. Patriotic Um Saeed is ready to sell her unique oud with pride – and competitive Um Saloom is doing her very best to outshine her. Home-maker Um Khammas is making her own marmalade – which takes a surprising turn after she buys up all the fruit at the market.
The old ladies calculate their profits and losses at the end of the FREEJ Public Market. The biggest winner is a surprise to everyone: it is Um Khammas who sold all her marmalade to one mysterious buyer, who wanted Um Saeed's oud as well. All is not what it seems and after some hilarious detective work, the group discover that they are victims of a giant con that may threaten all FREEJ residents.
The old ladies get a blast from the past when they receive a letter found in a bottle lost at sea for 10 years. The long-lost letter is from Salem bin Naged, the legendary lover and daring diver who lost his life diving for an enormous pearl to present as a dowry to his bride. This tragic love story brings the past back to the present for the grannies. What's the relationship between Um Saloom and the letter – and why is Um Khammas feeling so guilty?
It’s good news for Um Saloom, who has won CBI's “Mabrook” award worth AED 10,000. It’s bad news for the rest of the Old Ladies, who never get a moment’s peace thanks to the terrifying howls and roars from the wild animals kept as pets in the FREEJ community. Margaret asks her friend Monié to load the noisy animals onto his ship and return them to their natural habitat – but she’s unaware of a dangerous secret onboard...
The FREEJ gets all arty as Um Allawi shows off her brushstrokes to the Old Ladies and Abood comes asking for their help to paint a picture depicting Dubai Expo 2020. When Margaret surprises Um Allawi with a gift of a picture, the gracious grannies ponder how to return the favour. Um Saloom then surprises everyone with an accidental masterpiece – her very own handprint! Everyone is astonished as the painting turns into a world-famous work of art and Um Saloom becomes an international superstar. But, amid all the fame and glory, will anyone remember Abood’s request?
When Um Allawi's British friend Margaret complains of missing the English countryside, the old ladies try to cheer her up by taking her for a desert picnic. There’s a last-minute change of plan after a heavy spell of rain floods the FREEJ. Margaret suggests that they travel by balloon to the desert, but their flight above the clouds leads to a tale of the unexpected.
After spending a glorious day in the desert with Margaret, the old ladies wake up to find piles of rubbish left behind by careless families. Not only are the revolting piles of refuse causing a stink, but a strange group of people are spotted approaching the bags of garbage with sharp tools in hand. What is their secret – and more to the point, what is their relation to Um Saloom?
There’s no place quite like home, so when the old ladies are asked to leave the FREEJ to make room for a high-rise residential tower, they are less than willing. Um Jameel offers every resident AED 5 million to pack up and move on quietly, but the stubborn grannies refuse to budge. Can the feisty foursome be tempted by money to leave? And is this the end of the FREEJ?
