That news broadcast of a vortex on the Thames is the first glimpse of anything happening outside of the US on this show. Walternate's map in the alternate universe only showed the US, even though the degradation has been occurring for decades. So, surely something would've been happening elsewhere. It's beyond the scope of the show, I know, but still feels a tiny bit silly that everything is centered around New England and barely anywhere else.
I find it a bit hard to believe that Walternate wouldn't immediately assault Walter in some way upon seeing him.
Anyways, I think this is a great season finale. This is when the show was at its height.
"You destroyed my universe, son. Now I'm gonna destroy yours" More like a glimpse into the future where everyone dies and the writers do a hard reset to undo that, to keep you watching
